I am considering a digital camcorder as an after Christmas present to myself. I know very little about them. I will be using it for fire videography as well as family and friends type stuff. Can any of you give me advice. I am hoping to spend in the $500 or less category. I know that I can go to consumer reports or wherever else but, I'm looking for those of you who have practical expierence with different brands and features. What are must-have and not-so-necessary features etc.
