As of Yesterday, the Alt-Rock Station WHFS 99.1 FM switched format to Spanish Language Music. No Warning, nothing.....

That leaves DC-101 as the sole provider of Rock Music in the Washington Area. 98ROCK in Baltimore is still there, but they don't count as a DC market. This sucks royally. I can't turn the dial anymore in DC without hearing some Rap, R&B, Country (Which isnt as painful as Rap) or Spanish Music. When in the hell is someone going to care about Rock Music fans in this area? Don't get me wrong, DC101 is awesome, but there needs to be more choice. How come there is 95.5, 93.9 and 99.5 for the Rap and R&B fans but only one for the Rock fans? I wanna hear music, not a bunch of convicted felons talking about drinking, drugs, bling-bling and degrading women..!

This is fuckin' ridiculous.....FUCK Diversity!

If they are losing listeners, they switch formats. That's how they make money, if they are losing accounts, they are losing money. The do research, and switch formats, if this format doesn't work, I'm sure they will try another.

"I wanna hear music, not a bunch of convicted felons talking about drinking, drugs, bling-bling and degrading women..!"

How stupid you sound. If you know what stations play this so called music you don't like, then don't tune in to those stations jackass.

Pittsburgh had B-94 with 4 of the funniest morning personalities which won natioanl awards - they fired them and tuned to Stern. Now Stern is going to Satellite. Now the station is screwed!

Never really listened to anything but the morning show.

102.5 WDVE rocks the Burgh!

Damn, I am surprised that DC101 is still on the air! But as said before, if the station(s) are losing the listeners they switch their formats around to compensate the remaining/higher listening groups. I remember DC101 being the best Station there, when Stern was on (before his infamous phone call costed him that spot), then when the Greaseman took over.

I can't believe HFS is gone! I listened to that station for years when I lived in MD.

DC 101 was the only thing I listened to when I lived in the DC area and The Greaseman was hilarious, but being from West Central PA, 102.5 WDVE is the only station I remain loyal to. We have a few more choices of stations here in VA Beach, but we have lost a few Rock stations to R&B, and Top 40.

It sucks, but when they lose listeners, they change formats.

I'll stick with MP3's, I can put 1000 different songs on one cd and listen to them in the car until my heart's content, I don't have to worry about censorship, bad DJ's or some stupid commercial.

allpro,

I would love to change the station, however with the amount of garbage ghetto radio stations, redneck "I lost everything" stations and lollipop music stations, I might as well turn off my fucking radio JACKASS!

Z-104 was beginning to play all rock music, and yesterday I tune in and hear N3lly. I don't wanna fuckin listen to N3lly, he is a felon with no FUCKING TALENT! I guess you are another one that thinks all this hip-hop garbage is "Peoples tellin da true stories." Well, if I had to base hip-hop off of the Criminal Records of the artists or the ratio of fights at awards shows, I would say I had a low opinion. When in the hell will music be music again?
