25, 93, 1, Subbase, 17..countless others..."my professional" garage is good enough for them...and FYI, there's no charge for a truck sitting waiting for parts. Billed by the hours worked on the vehicle, and I"ll tell you that the parts you waited for from Mr. Shadetree I could have expedited much faster with a bigger pull from the mighty diamond or "the cornbinder" as you may know it. At least you got the truck fixed...proud of you for that one.

Nope, can't say that I do know her! What I do know is any work that can be done inhouse, is done there by our engineers! Why pay someone else to do what you are capable of doing yourself.
Hell I don't even pay anyone to work on my car unless I have to. My dad taught me plenty and I refuse to spend money to have somehting done I am able to do myself. Had one of the guys on the ambulance stand and laugh at me once when he caught me doing my tune up on my car. He stopped laughing once he saw that I really DID know what I was doing. For some reason he was under the impression that I didn't know you had to gap the plugs!

Ingredients=2 pallets and a bale of hay....watching this brave fireman spring into action after barely being able to button his pants as the free shrimp dinner at the volly house as added a few extra pounds to his shapely physique....this blaze yes believe it or not will be the first and only that he attends on a yearly basis. :eek: becuz as the shocker said the alarm bells going off at the general store make up the majority of his runs and now u know why he is such a salty jake :rolleyes:

Good news everyone! LtDad will have his Tonka Truck back very soon! After a desperate nationwide search for a 1972 Mack differential, one was located! Thanks to http://www.antiquepower.com/ for their help in locating parts.

I heard that Monday night's drill went very well, and even the fine guys from station 22 showed up and showed everyone the master stream through the vent hole technique that the pro's use to burn down buildings with.

You should know by now in the fire service... you cant believe what you hear, ....the tower was used to protect valuble parked equipment from radiant heat....and performed its mission better than expected....even saved an ornamental pine tree 10' from the perils of a 34x60 fully involved building....a credit to the guys who operated it....the property owner is very pleased...it was good training...to bad you couldn't/wouldn't attend.....the Bakerscope could of handled your fat ass along with 216's.....

We appreciate everything you guys did to allow us to purchase the "tonka"...and just a note...I skied with members of FDNY Tower 131 this winter at Hunter mountain New York and hope this summer to hook up with them, they got pics of her when she was brand newy and had the pad locks on all compartments to keep the fine residents of that neighborhood from stealing everything...the tower still and will always wear the Tower 131 and Tower 141 logos....

Damn u all are still talking about this i thought by now there would be a discussion on some first due barn fire w/a detached chicken coop in jackass and expresses 1st due.....U folks just dont learn do u......I think what it is is that ur jealous of jack asses and expresses indepth knowledge and skills in rural barnyard and trailer park fires. yeah yeah u can read firehouse and fire engineering all day but the knowledge gained from these 2 who also happen to be brothers ( same mother different fathers :D ) and have there trailers parked next to each other (2 parked within 5' in there neck of the woods is considered a row :) ) is so so valuable. u other fireman are mad because u dont get the chance to set up a rural water supply w/portable ground tanks and the works or a engine relay with a tanker shuttle. u gotta hook up to that thing that sticks out of the ground and gives u a continuous water supply so the chances of saving someones property is increased. i see the jealousy now and the bitterness u display towards these salty jakes. According to the Connecticut Rural Firefighting Hall of Fame ( Statistics Dept) have stated that if jack ass & express lube stay with there departments for 10 more years they will have been on a combined total of 178 fire calls and 27 EMS assists. which automatically puts there names on the ballot come voting time..They might be up for more awards and recognition for there instalation of 5 dry hydrants they have installed in there first due which has 104 people. it was 106 the other day but jackass and his cousin toby shot 2 roosters after a nite of binge drinkin on rubbing alcohol. I also think Lt ur a lil jealous too because these 2 not only do the deed but do so with there family members..example..u know what its like when ur sitting at home after a hard day on the farm and ur relaxing a bit then all of a sudden the minitor goes haywire so u spring into action run outside hop in the ford p/u with shifter on the column(old school) wait for ur bro, put the kojack light on the roof then spin out of ur grass driveway and head to the bighouse to get the rig out. once at the station jackass and express begin to argue on who is gonna drive and who is gonna ride the seat because folks this is the first run in 3 weeks and the boys adrenaline is at a all time high. well now theres another snafu to deal with because the fire chief has instituted a policy now that u cant respond unless u have 3 people who have gone thru the rigorous training in Scottown :D So jackass and express do the eny meany miny mo thing and jack ass wins and elects to drive...then to there suprise.....they see there sister who is also there girlfriend ( has her own trailer) runnin down the street so now they have 3 and can respond....express then marks up responding with a crew of 3 soldiers and jack ass now has the green light to go balls to the wall. Communications now is advising them that there recieving multiple calls for a one story commercial dwelling w/possible exposure problems. these 2 genious's now look at one another and say we aint got kno freaken buildings like that...we gotta a silo but no dwelling thing. :confused: well once on the scene the brave men and women/sister arrive and advise they are on the scene and have a dwelling with heavy fire conditions and it looks like she's gonna come down please send us every available unit and put the emergency disaster plan into affect. well the fire eventually puts itself out but the point is is that a family that sticks together and fights fires should sleep together as well :eek: now leave these brave warriors alone. they are quite aware that they put the S in Shizzle so get off there Nizzle :D

Working with some area stations is a joke . They try to talk the fire out. They try to put the fire out with a video camera. The last thing they try is throwing the fire house mag into the flames to knock it down,because that's what it said to do F.T. A@#HOLES

I know Pooh Bear was 1 of them...so theres the bench seat taken up in the back...did the patient atleast have the stretcher without having to share space...???...and what pisses me off is we did pump/drivers training and some of those on that ambulance run definetly needed the pump/drivers training as it is pretty obvious they arent proficient at either....5 people....1 patient.....(6)....was there a medic also..??

Yes that was sure a (CF), we actually had 5 people int he back, and one supervisor up-front, QV dispatching the call in the Drivers seat. The need for the supervisor ? I think people fighting over which Dunkin or Mcdonalds to stop at on the way to the hospital needed some sort of supervision.... not like just hoping into the truck after told we are all set.....Then stayed !!

DO I need pump training... YUP, sure do, I will be the first to tell you that I lack in this area, since my prior dept had drivers and nobody to man the nozzle.....

Before anybody files a letter of complaint with the town administration, SVFD board of directors,management at the local dispatch center....about comments being made on the "Watchdesk"...I ask you to reconsider...The Watchdesk is an open forum where we say good/bad...infuriate each other at times...but we're still brothers and sisters for a common cause...helping people in their time of need...I've been hammered via tower truck stuck in my driveway..($1500+ to get it out)....viagra...oxygen....age....decisions made that pissed members off....and when my official svfd 16 thong gets knotted up I find when the sun rises the next day it's all straigtened out...I ask that you do the same before you get severely hammered/embarassed on here or in front of the membership....or better yet...if you're bothered that much...stay away from this forum.....

some aren't taking this as a joke......problem child....for the record..TOC for chimney fire was 20:47 hrs 2/26/96.....department did its thing...cleaned the chimney at a rented house via colledge kids......kids requested help in drinking a keg of beer....not a drop was had until the apparatus returned at 22:12 hrs......2 chiefs and a bunch of members under obligation to help these colledge kids to drink a 1/2 barrel assisted....all colledge kids (light weights) passed out around 0100 hrs...FF's continued till 0515 hrs when the sound of an empty keg filled the room....am I wrong in the facts x-12...??...and that my fine feathered friends "Is serving the community as LtDad sees fit"....

Gees, I had the same problem with those rats... Here is some advice for you.... When you think you can see them, whack them, they may cry for a little bit, but then really whack them even harder. I just had the urge to come in and post a few of mom's words of wisdom. As it seems there maybe someone who needs to hear them.
If you're coming on to TWD either as a member or just to read the posts, you best be ready to deal with it. WE as fire and ems personel, come here to unwind and relax. To bust each others balls, and try to keep from going insane. If your balls are so delicate that you can not take that, then my advice to you is to stay out of TWD. We have rules here and they are adhered to, but it is a place to have some fun and let your hair down. If you can't take a little ball bustin IMHO you have no place in the fire service or ems. We can be a very tweaked bunch, but we are also the first people you turn to when you are in trouble. We all need this to release some of the pressures we all face. We are also a VERY supportive bunch when it comes to each other! (or at least 90% of us are, unfortunately there are those who are in this just for the "glory") We all take a little ball bustin now and then, it helps keep our heads from gettin too big. Hell, I've got one guy who to this day teases me for wobbling a stop sign down the side of the ambulance. That incident happened damn near 14 years ago. But I also know that if I needed his help, he would be there. It's all a part of being a member of a dept., being one of the guys. (OH Please don't any females get their undies in a bunge over that) It sucks when we have to pussy foot around the station when we have a member who is sensitive and can't take the ball bustin. A lawyer, now that is funny, hon the only reason anyone would need a lawyer is IF you posted someones real name on here.
