Most memorable Quote from “The Poseidon Adventure”
“We're sinking and nothings going to keep us from drowning.”
Now we come to the best of all my memories at the ole’ USNAFD. The Jimmy and Tommy era. I also like to refer to Tommy as Curly, but Big C, why not call him by his real name? Because out of this whole group of stooges that ran this place he was curly, nick was Moe and Charlie was Larry. Need I say more? Now figure out who Shemp is? First one to guess wins a prize…………………
When these two stooges took over the helm it was like manning the wheel of The USS Poseidon. Little did we know that we where all booked on a New Years Eve cruise unaware that a tidal wave of monstrous proportions was headed our way. Well let’s say that we knew it but neither of them did. Once they captained this ship out to sea we knew it would eventually capsize, it was only a matter of time.
This place had been referred to many times as the Titanic. The only problem with this was that the Titanic sunk! We unfortunately did not. We capsized and as the survivors we would have to make our way through the bowels of the vessel attempting to reach the hull and to eventually find freedom from these confines.
I am not going to start off by badmouthing these two morons, but I will instead praise them for their “ingenious” intentions and actions towards me. For this I give them all of the credit for my current and future success. Without Jimmy and Tommy all of this would never have happened to me. Without their loathing, belittling and hatred for me I would never be where I am today. Incidentally, it is miles ahead of anything that either of them had ever done or ever will do. I only wish that these two @sses could see for themselves what I am doing and where I am doing it at. For this I have to say “Thanks for everything Jimmy and Tommy.”
But as I also promised, the night that their cold, dead, and useless bodies are placed in the ground I will relieve my full bladder upon the soil that lies upon their graves. “An eye for an eye” is the way the saying goes and this will be my of honoring them and get a little “payback” to these two. Its ok to seek revenge in the rat-eat-rat world we live in today. And it is ok to hold a grudge as well. I can also feel better in knowing that Satan himself has a place reserved for these two, yes Tommy and Jimmy, Hell does except mongoloid idiots.
Due to your actions and planning in “holding the brother down” (me), you actually inspired me to a higher level. To tell you the truth for me now it’s sort of like experiencing nirvana but on a higher plain. I may not have achieved my recent success on my own, let’s say that both of you invigorated, inspired, and motivated me to achieve this, so I as a gentleman and a scholar I give all the credit to Moe and curly. They motivated me to a higher level, these two may have been the Bear Bryant and John Wooden of the federal fire service and never realized it. They did this by totally subduing me and my career, what a brilliant idea! I could not have done better myself.
By doing so forced me to get into a position that motivated me and forced me into pursuing my professional firefighter certifications and college level fire protection and fire administration associate’s degrees and now towards my fire administration B.S. degree. And with some agency help my masters in emergency management. I have been a Fire Officer IV since 1998. (Hey Jimmy that FO IV cert you have isn’t worth the sh!tpaper I use to wipe my @ss with.) For me to have been a firefighter here and a FO IV was unheard of back in 88’ and you will rarely see it today. I was a certified FO IV prior to most of the federal chiefs having received theirs, and I owe that all to Moe and Curly. I also started taking those FEMA EMI courses on my own just to show those two stooges how much better I was than either of them. Little did I realize back then what an important role and the impact it would play in my life today.
