What year is TS-46?
Also could someone tell me what work was done when TS-46 was refurbed, the cost, and who did the refurb?
My dept. is trying to get a 65' squirt from a local DRMO and I was just looking for some info.
Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

Pierce rehabbed it, enclosed the cab, bigger altenator, reworked the boom and outriggers ??, brought it up to NFPA standards ??, installed A/C in the front and rear and heat in the rear $75,000.
In my opinion,if you are looking for a decent squirt with limited use go for it, BUT, if you are going to run it like we run ours, be prepared to put brakes on it every 5,000 miles.
If you rehab it learn from mistakes that the government made, put bigger axles and brakes under it and repower the motor, do not put a jacobs brake on it use a transmission retarder. the current trans in it will not work with the jacobs brake.
Any more questions just ask.

Just some other words of advice:
a) don't forget to tighten the lugs........
b) make sure the mechanic knows how to adjust the alternator so you are not throwing belts all the time
c) make sure the mechanic knows the difference between the foam tank and the hydraulic fluid reservoir.
These tips should make your experience enjoyable.

LOL
When I was looking at the TS I did notice that the foam tank and the hydraulic reservoir where close. Mixing those would not be a good thing.
Thanks for the replies hopefully we will be able to get this unit. It has not been used too often only 18,000 miles on it. We plan to run it as our second due unit. Any more info or words of advice would be great.
I am a USNA grad and I remember seeing TS-46 running all of the place. Almost ran me over one day by mother B. LOL
Thanks again

Well thats not unusual for a grad to be run over near mother B by the telesquirt. Most mids and grads have looked right at us when running hot and have stepped right out infront of us. But I forget that they only admit you here on the level of your intelligence and not the level of your "emotional intelligence." LOL.
Hell if you get a tow truck you can probably get that piece of sh!t sitting next to 2 station. What has this place become, eddie and sons salvage?

Yeah I watched other mids stare at the TS coming right at them. You know how mids are... we own the place LOL
Yeah I think we will be lucky if we get the TS that we are looking at. It is in real good shape. Thanks again for the help.

Fred Sanford: So tell me Lamont, where did you get this here telesquirt?
Lamont Sanford: Why Eddie over at the NDW told me I could have the lights and other stuff off it if he could store it here until disposal time.
Fred Sanford: [clutching his chest dramatically] Oh, this is the biggest one I ever had. You hear that Elizabeth? I'm coming to join you honey.
Lamont Sanford: But pop, it will only be here for a little while!
Fred Sanford: Lamont, you are so ugly that if you pressed your face in some dough... you'd have gorilla cookies.
