Andrews has been though lots of management positions, and now that the Military are fully in charge from the top down it seems like the civilians are at risk on keeping their positions. The new positions are still not in place under the new standards so that's another thing in faver of the military leadership. It's still unclear on who will be doing the station chief duties, but Im sure the military will take care of that. The Asst Chief will have his hands full on who will be doing the military EPR's and the civilians appraisals, with the Military leadership changing everyday, this is not within the rules. But they make the rules as they go along. Why is civilian personnal holding up the the new standards , or is it the commander and the military fire chief. I guess the new Civilian fire chief will have lots of fun when he gets at andrews, even he will have to pay attention to the military leadership, the will cut into his back , If he is a yes man to the commanders, we will see how the FD will run. If he is not a yes man than he will be starting off in the wrong direction. We will see, Andrews will never change no matter who the runs the ship. The civilians is going to be draging up the end hose no matter how you look at it.

Well said! Ironically enough, Don Warner, Chief USAF Fire Protection says he had "no idea AAFB had not yet implemented the GS-081 upgrades AND LOST Station Captain positions"..... Which leads one to believe who reports to who? Rick Grammer at AMC tried the same tactic "I had no idea" until he was faced with a congressional, attatched to a July 12th email that stated "Looks good Chris, go with it" --- what he reviewed, (or failed to review) was the matrix that upgraded the FEWEST civilian positions, while cutting mid-level management positions, under the guise that the GS-081 doesn't support maintaining those positions.... Amazingly, Pope, Fairchild, Scott promoted all their civilians and even gained additional GS-9 positions? Can you say conspiracy? Now Rick Grammer won't communicate with congressional staffers, rather points them to communicate with legislative affairs.... This is the making of conspiracy fella's.... No one wants to appear to have their hands in the cookie jar... The guise that we promote all the military to "key leadership" positions because of a common & shared similarity, or to "set them up" for future civilian employment is not only obvious, it's apalling... The leadership failed the organization by allowing the Chief position to go unfilled for nearly 13 months! For all his accomplishments in the Special Ops career field, he certainly snipered the entire civilian cadre at AAFB.. How does it go? "There is but one Captain of the Ship, One Pilot of the Plane, One Chief of this Department".... Well remember Titanic, Pan-Am 103, and you will see how history is bound to repeat itself... I wish you all the best as the new Chief will as SUPERFLY eluded to, have his hands full! A famous AAFB civlian is famous for this quote: "if your scared, say your scared"..... I've got to believe that when the dust settles and the truth is revealed, a major shake up will commence.

I guess the long arm of "Calvin's Law" doesn't reach as far as he'd like... It was nice seeing you guys this weekend, although I waited for the Asst Chief to collect on Calvin's reward poster --- he couldn't get a hold of him I guess.

NICE Special Ops vehicle guys! Hope you get the chance to showcase it through plenty of use!

FYI: Taylor is out of the hospital now and resting at home. The fluid buildup in his lungs cleared up and though he was gutted like a fish from the gall bladder surgery, is making progress...
