Just wanted to let those who maybe interested know, that the NIST FPG is in the process of recieving a new engine pumper. KME is building it. Should take delivery late April early May.
It will have a 400Hp cummins, 1250 pump, foam system, 1000gal boaster tank, and pre-piped deck gun. It is equipped with a 7.5 diesel generator as well. It will carry 1200ft 5in hose, 400ft 3in hose, 2 crosslays of 200ft of 13/4in hose, has front intake and discharge with hose wells. The unit will carry a combination rescue tool. This unit will replace the 1980 mack pumper that is currently dead line do to serious maintance problems.

I will try to put pictures on soon as I get some.

Things are looking up for the NIST FPG

Bushpuller, may I ask a quick question ...........

Why put 5" supply line on there when everyone else you run with is using 4" supply line. Is this a "Fed" thing ?? Just a quick question brother, that's all.

BTW...how do you all like "E-282" ??

Congrats on the new Wagon !!!

CALL911,
Don't mind the questions. I do not think 5" hose is a FED thing, but the 5" hose was left by a contractor a few jobs a go. So we did not pay out of our budget for it. You know what they say, if it's free and can be used use it. So we will be using it.

E-282- It runs better than the old mack. If county would not have left us barrow it, we would still be out of service with the county. We like running with county, gives us a break with inspections and the other site duties.

We hear the county is getting some new apparatus, looks like it will be quite a few pieces. That is good news for the county.

Thanks for asking, be safe.

I was just testing to see who would be the first to say anything, I was right. Some people read others analyze to find mistakes.

Call the station at 301-975-6190 ask if you can come in and take pictures. Will need to give name and other information so we can get you cleared through security. So make sure you call first.

We went to see the new engine, did a small inspection of it. So far it looks real good. Have new photos for those who are interested.
