Let's talk about something that relates to politics AND the fire service!!!

Firehouse.com has an article about the proposed cuts to the Fire Act and has remarks from Shaitberger.

I hate to see the funding cut, but I also hate to see the hypocrisy of Shaitberger at the same time. He now calls for bipartisanship?? Prior to the election, I saw nothing from him BUT partisanship. I wish that the IAFF could have kept a neutral position (which more reflects the membership) in the election.

This is nothing new. The current adminstration has continued to tell the Fire service that we need to take a more active role in Homeland security while at the same time cutting funding.

Get ahold of your US Congress people and State Legislators NOW!
Don't let this happen. The Fire and Rescue County and State Associations in Maryland are doing it NOW!
