Something in this sequence struck me as odd, not wrong but odd. Any guesses?

It looks like they decided to ladder the b exposure to check for extension to me but then again I'm no truckie or IC. But why did they change their tactics I can see the attempted knockdown then they change their mind. I bet the guy who had to hump that hose up their wasn't too thrilled about it.

Chief: With that much fire coming out of the windows, you'd be a fool to throw your stick to that roof. Ladder to the side and then a groud ladder to the fire building for verticle ventilation. Humping hose up the ladder isn't hard, as long as the line is dry.
Phantom: Are you refering to no line in a few pictures and then a 3" in the last pictures?

Phantom,
You're not talking about the rather antiquated ladder, are you? (I do love the old school outriggers on it, though.)

I noticed that too. Along with the open cab, mirrors that looks like they are sticking out a foot and a half and a red helmet operating the ladder.

A C-95 Ladder? Mid 60's probably. I thought it was just an old pic.

How about the operator. Has breathing app. on. He shouldn't have to worry about air if he is going to be operating the stick.

Looking at the 2nd Photo I can see something that appears to be an Outrigger, but unless it is an "inside cabinet" screw down it seems there is no outrigger set up. Or maybe I am not using my bifocals correctly.

It's killing me dude. You've got to enlighten us as to what is so odd about the pics.

Ummm, there are no markings on the truck. No number, name, etc? Just a guess.

In the photo of the building , the height of the windows don't lok like when on fire they looked taller, side walls are down but looks like the roof pancaked stright down.

The ladderpipe is in use but how are they controlling it?

"Ladder to the side and then a groud ladder to the fire building for verticle ventilation."
It wouldn't be such a wise idea to put anyone on that roof. The fire is already venting from the windows.
The truck looks like a mid 60's mid-mount Mack ladder truck. The only thing I notice is the operator has the stick up prior to placing the pipe in service. Then in the other pictures you see the charged hose going up the ladder.

;) The truck looks like a mid 60's mid-mount Mack ladder truck.
That is what struck me, how many 40 year old trucks are still in service legally?

Well we have changed abit but i do believe we still have some mid-late 60 res. trucks.

I noticed the apparent? lack of outriggers.
Keep in mind that in some places red helmets are officers.
Looks like the fire is doing a damn good job of vertically ventilating itself by the third picture.
Not a big fan of hoselines on the roof, but OK.
It does appear to be really close to the power lines, although I didn't notice that until someone else pointed it out.
Ya got me!!! But inquiring minds want to know!
