Just got the word that brac is looking to cut back on fire fighters, which means we will no longer be needing any new rigs with all the fancy stuff..
To save further money .. Brac is suggesting calling back some old class A pumpers for active duty..... I can see it now Eng 41, Eng 42 and Eng 43...
Just teasing guys ,,,

By the tone of your entry, I see you are not effected by BRAC this time around. Well, being that close to the "Virginia" turnaround you probably never will be. Maybe you should have some mercy on those that will be actually looking for jobs in 4 or 5 years.
BRAC isn't the enemy of Navy Fire as much as CNI is and until you all get your unions on the ball, ALL Navy Firefighter jobs under CNI are in trouble. Better yet, how about you southern unions get some backbone and start fighting the powers to be that think they are in Hampton Roads?????
Yea, I"m pissed off after what they did to my department, can't comment as it's under litigation.

Bud I have to agree with you on the CNI post ... We just had a guy from there going over various stats and etc. One thing I heard from this guy is that he's not looking to take away a pumper from a station that also houses a ladder comapny with a pump on it. Seems Mr Killen had put the big screw to this guy some 14 years back by making his ladder comapny a combo unit and in doing so he lost 4 firefighters and a rig.
As far as the union comment.. Im not even gonna answer that... with the exception of saying your pretty much on the money with that statement.
