Who hasn't rode pass a junk yard or used vehicle lot and spotted a old piece
of apparatus sitting there and wonder where it has come from?
I usally pass a used vehicle and parts yard here in Southern Maryland along the US 301 corridor. In there is a old Baltimore City white and orange Sutphen pumper, a Pirsch red and white tiller truck and a tunnel or toll road firefighting tow truck one of those shortly cab over Macks with roll up doors which can fight a vehicle fire turn completely around inside a tunnel and then remove the vehicle. The vehicles look to be in good shape but just out of date for most modern fire services. Sometimes you will find old apparatus in used vehicle sells bookets on news stands. I sometimes wonder who will buy these old pieces. Will someone looking for a much needed updated piece of apparatus buy from a place like this because they were traveling by and seen it? There are those poor fire departments or those starting somewhere that need something to get started with.
Thou I wonder who would buy that tow truck? I would have to say someone running a run of the mill towing company maybe?
