Metz Aerials

Looking for information on these aerials. We demoed one and they had good and bad points but there aren't any in service at busier depts. The salesman put it off to being politics and the depts. not having an open mind and being progressive, which kinda pissed me off. What info do any of you have?

There's a Metz aerial in a neighboring county, on a Spartan chassis. Got to check it out at a show a little over a year ago. Quite interesting, it was. In speaking with the chief of the dept. that owns it, I got the impression that they were quite happy with it. No idea how it's holding up, or how much work it sees, but they still have it, so it can't be all that bad.

I know Rockland COunty has one in NY and from what I've seen it doesn't look to be a bad truck. It looks to have quite a short wheelbase which is always a nice plus but it looks like you lose a lot of compartment space on the truck. I havent seen it up close yet but the idea of the bucket on the end being able to be removed and pout back on for different scenarios makes me not to keen of it. I'd say best bet is to find a dept that has one and speak with them and if relatively close enough go and check it out
