Yesterday my dept. brought up in a meeting that they have purchased 5 throat mics to test out. If you dont know what these are let me fill you in. The are attached to your radio just like your regular mic, a piece is worn around your neck and pick up what you will be transmitting with a plastic ear piece looks like a ear plug that is used for hearing, the button to push to talk is located in between the radio and the throat piece. They are saying that these need to be tested out and if we like them than they will order more. Suppose to help out with the communication while you are performing interior ops on a fire. I personally think it would just be something else to worry about, making sure its plug in after you unplug you mic. I wish they would have just ordered the voice amps on the face piece's when they ordered the new BA's but who am I right? Anyway if you or know of anyone using them please let me know what you think of them and if they are worth it.....
Thanks
