I havent heard of any. In fact, there's not any busy ones in the whole state of california that I know of. Most are in the less than 500 calls a year range. There are alot of midsized cities with reserves and other such support from vollies, but nothing like the east coast. Most large departments have been fully paid since the late 1800's early 1900's.

:) I was wondering if anyone knows about any volunteer firehouses in Southern California. I lived there for 15 years and when I moved to Maryland I fell in love with the fire department. But now I might be moving back and I was wondering if there was any. Let me know.

Check for the Sierra Madre FD. I don't know if that is in the right area you are looking for, but they are a VFD. They have a website too, try google and you might find it. I don't have the address....

Hope that helps. :)

If you live in Sonoma County, there are many volunteer fire departments, some of which who run a good amount of calls. Also, if you live in Solano County, you have a good chance of hooking up with some somewhat busy volunteer departments. However, all of these counties are up here in the San Francisco Bay Area.
