Im doing a survey on Women Firefighters for my senior project at Forbes Road Career and Technology Center in Monroeville,PA and i was wondering if any of the women firefighters on here (or if any of you guys know a girl who would help) could fill and it out and email me at FFnichols22@yahoo.com as soon as possible. If you have any stories or pictures of you working with your company that would also be very helpful for me in my project. Im asking to have to the emails to me by November 6, 2005. How long have you been in the fire service? Are you a volunteer or career?
Have you or do you currently hold any line officer or ranking position at your fire department?
For these questions, answer Yes, No, or No answer.
Have you ever felt as if you were given “lesser” or “lower” jobs because you were a female?
Does your Bunker gear or SCBA’s fit you improperly, if answered yes, was anything done to correct it?
Are you seen as a part of the group, or an outsider amongst the males in your department?
Has any member of you department ever made a sexual comment or gesture towards you?
Were you ever pregnant while in your department, and if so, did your department do anything to accommodate you?
Were you ever denied employment or membership to your department or any other department because of your gender?
Is there separate living conditions/bathhouses for the females in your department?
Have male firefighters of lower ranking or training been given better jobs or have been promoted over you?
