Game 2 will be much different. See you in a few weeks.....

Truck123:
Porter is a slopass, gun toting gangster that obviously couldn't play football and decided to lay in a cheap shot. Game 2 will be much different, this time the boyz will make their statement early and often. I just love the hatred building between these two teams. It is going to be great season when we flatten the Steel shower Curtain for the second time!!!!

I give the Ravs credit....and to be honest...it is always good to lose to a rival. It will make them prepare that much harder next time. It is hard to rate our team right now with Roth's in as the #1 QB now, and not seeing much besides a hurricane! Although Miami was ranked #1 D, I never saw it, and to be honest, Baltimore has a better D than them. It will be a good game, guaranteed.

Prediction: The Burgh 23 / Ravs 21 with a missed field goal in the last seconds. :)

PS. Gun Slinger! Maybe Porter and Lewis are related?

Chief come on you know I wouldn't gloat on the fact that the Great Jamal "hi ho hi ho it's off to jail I go" Lewis gained a whole 57 yards against the team he has owned well maybe just rented.....

Hail to the Redskins!!! I'll say no more

Loo and Mongo: The Browns? You gotta be kidding me? Guess our loss to them wasn't a fluke. I mean a great team like the Washington Redskins would have whipped some ass on an ordinary day. 1-3 sounds good to me. Who would have ever thought that the mighty Joe Gibbs would be 1-3? Loooooong season ahead for you two. Better luck next week.

It doesn't matter who wins the game. The Ravens will always be the Second String Cleveland Browns. If you Baltimorons had any fuckin Heart you would have told the Ratbirds to Stay in Cleveland and cheered on the COLTS!

The Indianapolis Colts are the only team from Maryland in my book, even if they do play in Indiana. I am a LOYAL FAN. Something Ratbird fans can't claim.

Ray Lewis- WTF does that guy say? Is he from Dundalk? I heard him tonight and he sounds like he just walked off a Street Corner( Him and Jamal were probably slingin' some dope and doin's a Drive By.) Those two degenerates alone do a Fine Job of Representing that Armpit of a City. Have a nice day Ratbird Fans, I hope the Team Bus gets stolen while in Landover. :D

OK....OK, the Buzzards pulled that one off. Actually it looked like they just wore the Deadskins down. I will have to give them credit for their stamina.

BTW, did anyone see the Steeler game? I think "Big Ben" may have won the starting job, even after Tommy "Gun" returns from IR. By the way, was that Browns team that Pittsburgh spanked the same team that handed the Buzzards their hat a few weeks ago???????????

I know that the season is still young but it does my heart good to see the Steelers at the TOP OF THE DIVISION!!!!!!

Chief601
10-11-2004, 02:11 PM
OK, you do deserve your due for the Squealers. I hate to admit it but I sure do wish Boller looked as good as Big Ben does. I don't care what your hopes are for the season, Cowher has to let this kid stay exactly where he is. He looks really good and I personally think he will be the future for that team. give him two more years and if he keeps this up, he will be the premier QB in the league. If Cowher decides that Maddox should be the QB, do me a favor and send Ben to Baltimore, we would galdly take him!

As for the same Browns team? Definately not the same team the Ravens lost to. This team is the typically Browns team that we all know and love. Don't toot your horn to loud, you do have some tough teams to face and have dealt with the easiest part of your schedule except one team...The Ravens!!!!

Congrats, see you December 26th.

Truck123
10-11-2004, 02:44 PM
Big Ben will be the starter, no matter what happens with Maddox. Maddox will be a great backup and we can release Batch, and keep St Pierre as 3rd string.

The Ravs defense looked very good last night in the second half - I give them credit. The Skins shot themselves in the foot and could not recover from it.

On a side note: Big Ben and the Steelers offense are only using 50-60% of the playbook while Ben learns the offense. This was confirmed by the Steelers, and they will continue to prepare for games this way, while slowly adding plays to the gameplan. While 4-1 is good enough for the division lead, we have a TOUGH TOUGH schedule over the next few weeks. Dallas this coming week should be a great game, then the bye week, then the Pats at home, then Philly at home. We then travel to the Brownies and Bengals, then Skins at home, at the Jags, Jets at home, at the Giants, Ravens at home, and at Buffalo. Currently 4-1, I see our record at the end of the season at 12-4, pending no key injuries.

Ravs have a tough schedule as well. Steelers will win the division though. If the Ravs had a QB, the offense would be able to help the D.

paramedic 35
10-11-2004, 03:30 PM
I agree. 12 - 4 sounds like a safe bet, barring injuries. We might even make it 14 - 2 if we could ever get the secondary to tighten up. I don't know if it is a lack of speed or self confidence that makes them give such large cushions to receivers. Which ever it is it is the one major weak spot that the Steelers need to work on.

Chief601, you are right, the Brownies were on top of their game when they played Baltimore (not their typical inept selves). The schedule is definitely getting tougher but I am still looking forward to December. What are the chances that you will still have the jail-bird by then?

PM35: the jail bird will be playing every game in nov and Dec barring injury. He is suspended fort wo games following our bye this weekend then back in uniform. His jail sentence will not be carried out until after the season ends. 12-4 and 14 -2? Let's not get too far ahead of yourselves. you both know that there is no guarantee that you will win either the Browns or Bengals games. Both teams always play you very tough. Every year you seem to split at least with the Bengals. The Pats, Eagles, and Cowboys are no slouch teams either. As well as the Jets & Giants. you could be facing 6 or 7 more losses this year. No one knew at the beginning of the season just how good those teams were going to turn out to be. You have only played the soft part of the schedule now it gets tough. If the Ravens don't find any offense, it could be a very long season for us. We have it even tougher than you do! Eagles away, Jets away, Patriots away, Colts away, and Steelers away.

FFBarbieDoll,

Point 1: Yes, I have been to a BALTIMORE Colts Game. In 1983, against the Chicago Bears....they actually won 22-19.

Point 2: Yes, I live in Virginia. I have lived there for a little under a year. I was born and raised in MARYLAND.

The Baltimore Ravens are an embarassment to Football with the amount of controversy coming out of that team. An Armpit Team representing a Cesspool City. How fitting.

Chief 601, I love the team, not the owner. Yeah, it was a terrible thing what he did. But I guess it was his right, he owned the team. Maybe the players were getting tired of their hubcaps getting stolen at Memorial Stadium? When I see an owner down on the field returning a kickoff, I will start liking football teams based on who owns them.

Why don't you ask some Redskin fans about loving their team but not it's owner. There you will see some true fans....not a bunch of people who don purple because the Bureau of Prisons happened to drop off a Football Team in Baltimore.

Chief601
10-12-2004, 09:15 AM
Hog: mad? Not mad at all. There are many people who know nothing about football except what they read on the front pages of a newspaper. I really do not care what Jamal did 4 years ago. You don't have to like the Ravens and I don't have to like any other team. You want to talk football? Then let's talk football. You all know the Ravens have a successful franchise after six years so instead of talking grid iron you'll talk leg irons.

Chief601
10-13-2004, 03:37 PM
My priorities are just fine Hog. I'm not the one getting arrested or psoing a problem to society. Just remember one thing, it's not me or any other fan that is letting criminals loose, prompting their behavior or offering words of encouragement. Kids also look up to firefighters as role models as well. Now we have firefighter trainees killing other firefighters families in drunk driving incidents. Cops that beat up their wives. Doctors and nurses getting addicted to drugs. There is foul play and corruption every where you look. I do my part to stay out of trouble and teach my son the same. Don't preach priorities to me. If the system allows palyers to escape justice and return to the field, I'll be happy to root for them while they are there.

2Eng & Truck123:

It pains me in every way to see how well Big Ben is playing. Tommy Maddux who? It is always the sleepers that you have to worry about. You guys always seem to do very well picking up these guys who start out as studs.....then become duds. I woul dgladly trade Boller to get just a little of what Big Ben has right now. Of course you also have some world class receivers, (even though I think that Ward and Burres are complete assholes?. Just the same, you guys definately are the shit right now. As for joining you on December 26th at Heinze Field, I appreciate the offer. I would love to be there. Just can't leave the 70's for the 30's. Especially at Christmas. Maybe next year?

Someone please jsut grant me one wish. Ravens have 89 yards rushing this week and 425 yards passing with 5 TD's. Give Boller just a little bit of confidence. Puuuulease!!!!

Loo, back to hoping the Skins loose. Hog, same for you, whatever team you root for. Truck, 2Eng, wish I could muster up enough to wish you luck but we really need you guys to drop a few. No matter the outcome, everyone enjoy another week of the greatest game ever played!

Burress is 100% an asshole! Ward is actually extremely cool, and to be honest, plays much better than Plax. I dont think there is a more physical WR in the game? Plax is good, but if I were to choose from the two, I stick with Hines. He has won more games for us than anyone.

C'mon Truck! The Pats are the hottest team in the league and the Steelers have won all of easy games, (lost to who??????). The Pats by a touchdown at least.

No Fear, I agree. However, the only way this kid is ever going to become a passer is if the Ravens let him pass. He looked promising in the 1st half last week then they sat on the lead for him. Philly is coming hard. My bet, Wright or Stewart will be in the game at some point this weekend. Without Ogden and Heap and Jamal, we will be in desperation mode. I like Kordell lining up in the slash position and maybe even taking a few snaps. Billick is going to have to be creative this week. I see the defense playing solid but I don't see 4 interceptions. Philly is primed for a loss but it is going to take some creativity to find a way to beat them. Hopefully T.O. will get a season ending injury. That would help.

Go Ravens, Pats, Packers!

Truck123

And the Pats have beat who - other than the Jets?

This game is as close as you can get evenly on statistics. The difference will be Ben and the field goal kicking as well. Heinz Field is a hard place to kick. Vinny is a hell of a kicker, so Reed has to step up. Ben will win this one for us.

Ravs will drop to Philly.

The Baltimore Sun, 10-30-04

Baltimore, MD:
In an effort to improve the Baltimore Ronins' chances against the Philadelphia Eagles tommorow, Mayor Martin O'Malley has granted a one day furlough to all football capable inmates at the SuperMax prison in Baltimore. This will be in addition to pardons already granted numerous Ravens players by various local, State, and Federal judges. "The City of Brotherly Love" eagerly awaits the arrival of the players that call "The Purple Penitentiary," otherwise known as M&T Bank Stadium, their home. :)

A few thoughts to ponder:

According to Freud, dreams can, and often do, come true. ;)
Peter Pan ALWAYS defeats Captain Hook. :p
Even Dopey got a piece of Snowwhite. :o
Cinderella wins out over all of the "better" candidates. :p
Puss, well what can you really say bad about that?.
Goofy's favorite QB has a 100+ rating. :D

Of course, the first point is my interpretation of Freud's dream research. If he could analyze opposing defenses' dreams what would he find?

Yes, I think he's been the best LB in the NFL for a number of years. It really isn't jealousy at all. All pro athletes should be held to a high standard of behavior. Whether they like it or not they are role models for our kids. Any objective person knows that he got off way easy. If it were one of the Steelers I would feel exactly the same way. And no I really don't like TO either. I can't stand egocentric people in general, and he's one of the worst ever. The fact does remain, though, if he were a Steeler, I would hope he made a difference, just like you would have if he were a Raven. Everybody loves a winner!!

On a lighter note, is your father captain of City 8 Truck? Just curious.

Sorry folks, but the birds looked like they had the Avian Flu last night. On offense at least. It's pretty sad when there's only one offensive TD out of 40 total points. It really was a boring game. "...disgruntled people of the Armpit of Maryland"

Thats strange. There are certainly more visitors comming to this "armpit" than P.G. County. Let me see; Palmer Park, Hyattsville, Seat Pleasent, Capital Heights, Oxin Hill, which one is the shinning star of P.G.? Baltimore is an old city with alot of tradition and history. Like other cities on the east coast; New York, Philadelphia, Washington.

Chief601
11-17-2004, 09:11 AM
Did the Browns pack up and slip out overnight? Don't think so. You can debate this as long as you like. The Ravens have been here for 7 years now. The stadium is a sell out, the PSL's are sold out with a waiting list, the city has forgotten the Colts and Ersays, Johnny U was a self proclaimed Raven, and Cleveland has their team. While the NFL snubbed Baltimore for an expansion, Cleveland got their team , their records, their colors and their name back very quickly. Now Ladderboy, if you knew anything at all, the people of Baltimore had no idea the team was coming. It was established by the Stadium Authority and only done so after being contacted to see if there was any interest. Now, geographically speaking, if Baltimore is the "armpit" of Maryland, and we continue to move south and a normal pace, that would mean that you live in the Asshole of Virginia. Kind of fitting don't you think?????

Hey Barbie! Amercias team sounds like 7-3 to me. Schedule looks like a 10-6 finish unless we can get a little luck on our side and keep players healthy. Good luck to the boyz. I am going to miss the Pats game because I will be out of the country. Root extra hard for me.

Like I said at the start of the season we may not go anywhere Chief but neither are those shit birds from Balmore. They will be watching from the same seat as my beloved (sniff, sniff) REDSKINS.....

FFBD, what do u mean the Browns/Ravens were from Cleveland they were taken albeit in broad daylight the same way the Colts were one city robbed another regardless of how u spin it the truth is the truth, you all took a team that belonged to another city and the fan base supported that team as well if not better then the Balmore masses supported there team before it was taken.

Allpro, Please do not mention Washington in the same breath as that tampon wearing City to our North for those that don't know Balmore.... I have nothing against Tampon wearers I love em even if they are from Charm City

I'm looking for two things on Sunday. The first is the Steelers record improving to 9-1. The odds of this happening are probably 70-30, for. The second thing is Chad Johnson going on IR after having a bucket shoved right up his arse. The chances of this one are slim, I know, but one can always dream. We have 2 out of 3 extremely tough games to play. While the Steelers and Colts have been playing great, each team has come close to losses the past few weeks. Best part, they have not played great teams. We can get in with one win and will be a sure bet if we can win two. Sure, the season hasn't been what we wanted but if you go back many threads and check, looks like the Ravens have produced far more than your team. No Fear. I agree it was a payback. No hard feelings. It makes the next game that much better. :)

I think the shot on Ben was a little more dirty though. When Heap lined up, he was fair game.

The Steelers have a good shot at going all the way, but it will NOT be easy. We need all the support from the fans at every game. On Sunday, it was loud, but not 1/2 of what it should have been. The crowd honestly is the 12th man on the field when the opposing team has the ball.

Hog, cheap shot my ass. It was a payback hit and you are just lucky that Ben isn't going to miss major time like Heap did. Truck123, the hit in Heap was far worse. Ben didn't get a cheap shot, he got a late hit and if he wasn't the QB, it would have been legal.

I hate saying this but I rather see Kordell being quarterback, at least he had a good preseason and moved the ball down the field. Last in the league on passing yards, God, I bet Johnny Unitas is rolling in his grave ( God Bless You Johnny U). Matt Cavanaugh, got to go to, if we didn't have a great defense we would be in last place. Why does Billick stick with Cavanaugh, lord only knows. I love my Ravens deeply, however we were better off with Trent Dilfer, at least he got us the Super Bowl. Billick always saids drink another beer and make another statement. Maybe he should start drinking beer, it might make him come to his senses. Now that I vented, I apologize for my demeanor. The Steelers are truly the team to beat, But my heart goes to Peyton Manning, at least he remembers and idolizes Johnny U.

Congrats to you steelers fans, you do have something to cheer for, and I be praying to help the Ravens make it to the playoff. Maybe just maybe, they can shit on the steel and fly high again

Have a great New Year

No Fear,

I was surprised that they did not put in Stewart Sunday. He had better odds against the speed of our D. While I dislike Stewart, he is a better QB by far.

IF the Ravs make it, I would love to see game 3. Would make for an interesting game. Of course, we would win...again..but if they approach the game the same way that they did 2 days ago, they would not even have a chance.

Agree with you all....except for Hog. Of course, are't we all here to disagree with Hog as much as we can?

No Fear, you couldn't be more right. Kyle seems to piece together a good game then flounder again. I can't be certain if it is because of the lack of receivers or the lack of talent. He seems to be more secure in the pocket, chooses his runs well, he does have a good arm, what the hell can it be that Leftwhich, Palmer, Rothelisberger and others all seem to be getting it and Kyle just can't. I think that you are also correct about Cavanaugh. He is no offensive coordinator. For years every time the Ravens go to the line you can read the play. We need recievers that can catch, a right side of the line that can block and someone who can mix up some plays and keep everyone guessing.

Of course what we REALLY need is this;, C'mon Raiders, C'mon Colts, and HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!

You don't think Cowher would throw the last game of the season to keep the Ravens out would he???

I hate to admit it, but hog was right about the Porter/Heap thing. All 55 did was push him over. Joey didn't cause the injury to the ankle, or the ensuing 12 weeks Heap missed. If he was that injured he shouldn't have been on the field. Should Joey have pushed him over? Probably not, but a cheap shot deserving retribution, I REEEEEAAAAALLY don't think so.

601, since when are late hits penalties only called when the QB is the one on the ground?

PS: Suggs rhymes with thugs. Isn't that quite apropos? :D

Cheap shot, or not, it does not really matter.
Big Ben is not calling it that way. He said it was a good hit. Mabey that is because he is a big, tough QB, not a wimp.

I don't think the Steelers are going to throw Sunday's game. Cower's weekly interview pretty much said it all. They want to go into the playoffs with momentum.

I do hope that Bettis gets in for a few plays to try and get his 1,000 yards, but we will see.

As for the playoffs, I am just glad that the Pats hafe to play the Colts, and not the Steelers. That should make for an interesting game if the weather is not too bad in Foxboro.

Current wild-card matchups
AFC
New York Jets at San Diego Chargers
Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts
First-round byes: Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots

The Pats dont have to play the Colts yet.... I would not count out any of the wild card teams yet. Denver is doing so-so as are the Jets and the Chargers, and if Buffalo knocks one of them out, look out - they look damn good.... and they are a cold Wx team.

I do not think the Ravs and Jags will get in.

Go Broncos and Jags!!!! But than again, maybe the Ravens in the playoffs would be a good thing. They're so far down, I don't think they could beat anybody else there right now. Division and dissension on a team are a rapid spreading form of cancer.

And, as always, HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!!!!!

If the Buffalo game proved anything yesterday it was that the Steelers are a team that has depth. Granted, they were playing the Bills, but the Steeler back-ups looked pretty good. With that kind of depth I don't think anyone will be able to beat them.

I think I will put curses on them and the Steelers and pull for the Patriots. Hate to see NE go all the way again but at this point, any team other than the Steelers will be OK with me. Congrats to all of you winners out there. Condolences to all of us who missed the road to the show. Just 8 more months until the pre-season!!!!!!

Indy was on Fire yesterday. I hope they do as well against NE. It would be nice to see Maryland's true Football team go all the way this year. Sorry the Skins missed out, that would have been great for Coach Gibbs. Hopefully they will tighten up and look even better next season.

I was kinda sad to see my Packers go down like they did yesterday. Minnesota didn't walk the dog, but they did play well. The only exception being that Scumbag Ghetto Rat Randy Moss and his antics. He should be heavily fined for his sickening display of ignorance towards the Green Bay Fans. That Shit-Bird should play for the Ravens with the rest of the Degenerates. It should be a league regulation that these Shit-Bird's have their hair cut short too. As much money as they are making, you would think they could dispense with the Wild Afro's and the Roach Race Tracks (Donovan McNabb) on their heads and look as professional as they claim to be. I thought it was the NFL, not the NBA.

Yeah, Indy did look good and I hope they beat the Pats, but "Go All The Way", come on. In order to do that they would have to beat the Steelers. I don't care how good Manning has looked this year, he hasn't been pressured. If they make it to the Burgh, the Steeler defense will knock his ass out.

Actually I used my terrible towel to clean up all the beer I spilled while screaming at the TV set.
It was a great season that ended too soon. Oh well, Ben will no longer be a rookie next year. He got some well needed experience and should prove to be a shining star in the Steelers offense for years to come.
I still think the play calling, and the unwillingness to bring Maddox in had a lot to do with the loss. A few more blitzes early on might have helped also.

Oh Well.......

Geez another convict Joke. I ought to start saving them and write a book. Well Hog if you must know, the Big Birds and the chokers usually split their games every year. And I believe when the Bird shit on their steel it gave them their only regular season lost. Thats whats so great about these two team, you even get cheap shots and all. Hog, if Ray Lewis got traded to your team, I find it hard to believe that you would not accept him. Secondly, he plead guilty in his involvement, did he stab him or was it guilt by association? Can you answer that question? I really want to know. I would agree with you that anyone involved in the needless taking of a human life should face the consequences. But was I the judge that let him off? Am I the football commissioner that could have band him from football? The answer is both NO!. I don't protect him , I don't drink with him, and I certainly have no association with. However he is a member of a football team that I root for and what is wrong with rooting for a home town team.

PS: I sure there are a couple people on your team that been arrested to.

HOG: Mumble and groan as much as you want. I don't care who plays for my team as long as they PLAY! You probably dind't spend alot of your school days learning about the judicial process in this country. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. A jury of everyday American citizens decides the fate of all people accused of a crime. That jury makes their decision based on evidence provided. If a jury finds a defendat innocnet of the charges, who are you to contrdict them? Who is at fault in the O.J. case? O.J. or the prosecution? The only reason why trials against pro atheletes and movie stars are in the fore front of the news is based on the visibilty of the accused. What about your average Joe that commits hiddious acts of vilence that you never know about? It is time that you stop being a judge and start looking at the overall picture. For as many bad times that the Ravens have had with players breaking laws, the Steelers have also had bad times with Cowher, Kordell, Porter, Bam Morris and others. Put large amounts of cash in the hands of young men that have never been around such financial wind falls and you are destined for problems. The Ravens are home this week and so are the Steelers. Deal with it!

Please don't be that way, it does matter I coach a 11-15 yo football team and they do see these criminal types as heroes....

I have to explain to them there are behavioral differences and whether we like it or not fame and money sometimes does not equate to justice but rather "JUST US"

In this information age very little goes unnoticed even for Billy Bob in Backwater, Alabama who screws the goat kills his wife and burns his house down.. we hear about it and just because they play football and it is high profile does not make it right and they should be held to a higher standard for that very reason. They want you to recognize them and worship them cause they have god given ability so it comes with a highr price tag.

I do agree that teams and colleges should make an effort to keep these mongrels in line while they play for them. Maybe take them off the pedestal everyonce in a while.

But please don't rationalize or try and justify the crime ridden Raaavins by saying the Judicial system this and that etc etc .

Remember I can't think these thoughts but for so long head starts to hurt ;)

Loo: First...the Eagles have...fallen!! Second, I was in no way rationalizing any crime. I am just a little tired of hearing what crimes the Ravens have committed over an over. If someone needs to use that to make themselves feel better over a loss, so be it. I will stand behind the statement that these young men coming out of college and being instant millionaires seem to have a place in the way the way they conduct themselves. For every one of these men that commit a crime there are hundreds that do not. Remember also that some of these players that are accused of crimes are accused unjustly. Look at Juwan Howard a few years ago accused wrongly of rape. Not oly did he get acquitted but he successfully sued his accuser and won the case. There is always another side to the story.
