Great news for the Washington Redskins. I believe Joe Gibbs can and will bring back respectability to the football program.
I'm here in Western PA, an obvious Steeler fan, however I've always followed the "HOGS" and the rest of the "Pitt" boys that enjoyed great careers with the "Skins".

Joe Gibbs would be the best thing to happen to the Redskins.
I think it will all depend on whether Danny Boy will let him run the team without a lot of interference. Danny needs to back away a little. I also heard Joe is interested in a piece of ownership.
I hope he does not get out of NASCAR, Joe has done a great job there also.

Glad you are all Happy with Joe's return. It will be very exciting when the Ravens play the Skins and kick your asses while he is the coach. Happened the first time and it will be better the second time.

Gibbs return is OUTSTANDING! He will bring his knowledge of the game and wisdom back just like he brought it to his NASCAR team when he retired from the 'skins the 1st time! BTW - Green Bay ain't gonna make it this year either...

Yes we had a bad season or should I say a few but lets span the say past 3 decades....

A. Baltimore Raaavins --- wait u stole them like Inndy stole the colts you all should be ashamed of yourselves for 1) stealing another towns team and 2) failing to support a team (Colts) rich in heratige and tradition but oh yes I digress.

Wait while yes the Redskins play in Maryland they still retain the original name due tot he fact that they are playing in the Washington Metro Region.

B.The Raavins won 1 whole super bowl and appeared in say 1 wooo hooo yeah let's sing those praises.

The Washington Redskins have been to 5 Super Bowls( 4 under Coach Gibbs) and say won 3 hmmm!

Okay 1st:

A: The Colts were STOLEN from Baltimore. They got to keep the name that belongs to the Baltimore fans. They never had a lack of support, I come from a long line of Baltimore football fans, all season ticket holders and I like my Grandfather befoire me have never missed a game. I sat through many Colts games as a little girl.
The Browns were asked over and over for better support to no avail and willingly
( with Clevelanders aware) left to come to better! And surprise surprise they got a new team, and kept the name. So I for one have NO sympathy!!!!! I suggest crying towels myself. Baltimore fought for a franchise team with 100% support, sold out twice to give Balto. the ball, but still was dissed by the NFL ( imagine that!)

B: The Ravens have won a superbowl, having become Baltimores team in 1996 ( how long has it been since the foreskins won, how many times(only 3), in how many years of football: you do the math)
AND C:
How many die hard foreskin fans jumped on our bandwagon during superbowl and every playoff game??? 99% is my estimate.
So a way of life?? Absolutely, Baltimore was, is and always will be a hard a** football town. The only thing I am scared of is drowning in the Foreskin tears when we win!!! Saltwater at that!

Wow, not even a day after the probowl and the sh*ts already hit the fan for the next season.

I see a WD scrimmage in the making here.

BC vs. DC.

Just like everything else football goes in cycles

Last year Steelers, chosen to be in Super Bowl, (best team in AFC, lose at home AFC championship)

Baltimore Ravens, World Champions, the next year, sitting at home watching the wildcard round.

Denver Broncos, back to back, the next year, watching the wildcards

Last year, Tampa Bay Buccanneers, World Champions, this year sitting at home watching the wildcards.

This year, Cinci starts out as usual, middle of season, NFL's biggest suprise, wow, actually finished above .500.

The cycle goes on. Someone has to have the worst team.

Yes my blood is Black and Gold, with the exception of my throwing arm, it has Baltimore Black and Orange running through it.

Chief601

Barbie: You go Girl! Loo, why don't you take a look at the Colts Super Bowls and combine them with the Ravens Super Bowl and hmmm, maybe you will see that the Baltimore franchise has been much more succesful than that of our step child in DC.

We certainly are not proud of how we got our team back. But, we got one. Anyone in DC should know how the people in Balto felt based on your lack of success to get a major league baseball team.

Personally I am happy to have the ex-Browns and the Modell family. They came to a city that loves football and they brought us a Super Bowl in quick order. They have given us 3 consecutive playoff seasons and are on their way to a better future.

Our stadium is the best in the league. Fed Ex can't hold a candle to it, not with the leaky concourses, the horible seating arrangement. You guys got what was paid for. A 200 mil piece of shit.

Barbie is right, DC sure did jump on our bandwagon when we went to the show and WON it! As long as Snyder owns that team you are destined for the shit house year after year. Oh, and didn't one of your Super Bowls come in the year of the scab players???????

Skins Suck! You know it, we know it, the entire country knows it.

BTW...it's all in good fun. You all be safe. See you in September!

Here we go. I love this Steelers vs. Ravens stuff. I would be willing to lay the bet down right now that Pittsburgh is not going to win the AFC North. I would also bet that Cinncinatti is going to finish higher than the Steelers. You guys had a miserable season and I can't imagine that much is going to change next year. The Ravens are on the rise as well as the Bengals. You had your time in the sun and now you are going to have to take a back seat for a few years. I would be willing to bet you some Texas Babes for some Pittsburgh Babes but since I have been to that city, I will definately pass on that! LOL Bring it on and lets keep the bantering going!

You obviously don tlook in the correct places. We will see next year bud. I will guarenty that Pittsburgh will win the north. If you knew anything about football you could tell me how Baltimore is on the rise. Also tell me how the steelers are going to take a back seat. They can only go foward bud! Same team as last year, plus the free agents they will pick up and also the draft. Granted, we did have a bad season with this team. but this is also the same team that has had great saeson's in the past. Black and gold is the future you should job off the tuna backwagon in Dallas and join the real fans in the steel city.

Chief601
02-10-2004, 10:57 AM
Glad to see you are a true Steeler fan. Everyone should back their team even in the bad times. How are the Ravens on the rise? Hmm, let's see. Youngest team in the NFL. Outstanding defense that will all be together next year. AFC players of the year: Jamal Lewis and Ray Lewis. Suggs, as a second teamer gets the sack lead with 12.5. NFL Rushing leader, Jamal. NFL tackle leader, Ray. NFL blocked punt leader, Ed Reed. No one will match the defense. Although their are offensive problems, it's nice to know going into the draft that we don't even need to draft. Ravens tied the NFL record with most players going to the Pro-Bowl. Our coach was never caught screwing his secretary, that's a plus. I could go on and on. Since I apparently don't know much about football, you should spend a little time reading the rags and you will see that all of the experts are giving the Ravens a much better shot that Pittsburgh. Tommy Maddox=One Year Wonder. Ward=just can't seem to keep hismouth shut and play. Burris=same as ward. Zeroue= better than Bettis but can't shoulder the team by himself. Bettis=to old, too fat ready for the SHORT BUS. Cowher? Hell what can you say about him that I haven't already said. You keep in touch with me becasue when opening day comes...a million days from now, I am sure we will face off. I definately want to lay a bet with you. I used to bet all my old friends that are Steeler fans jerseys. If you are up for it I'll wager a Steelers Jersey for you against a Ravens Jersey for me. Be safe truck man!

Even though our season blew, we did do one great thing.

Stopped Jamal 40 some yards short in the final game.
Oh yeah, being the last team to thrash the Cinci Bungles before they made a run, don't forget the only reason we lost the 2nd game to Cinci (barely) was b/c someone made the decision to score with 1min+ left in the game. Giving the kittens a last min shot that worked. Had the Black and Gold just ran the time down more, Cinci never would have one.

The refs suck, how many consecutive plays can a defensive back hold the WR arm before a penalty is called? (Indy and N E.)
For the past few years the playoffs looked fixed.

(Viniteri missed first kick, retarded penalty gave second kick and it goes through)

Super Bowl after 9-11, Pgh was the best team in football. Certain Pgh players appeared dejected before the game started. What a way to bring the moral up after a terror attack than to send in the Red White and Blue team. (Andruzzi's bro is FDNY)

95 super bowl, Neil Od. throws passes directly to DB, no B&G jersey in sight, WHY?

few years later, Pgh, best team again, (trend here) Elway is planning for retirement (still no ring), Pgh plays worst game of season all of a sudden at HOME, Loudest crowd ever, full house, I was there, stadium was literally bouncing. Elway goes on to get his ring finally. (Two to be exact, then retires)

Whether its fixed or not, It sure looks like it.

NoGun4U
02-10-2004, 12:31 PM
Correct my friend. whether the playoffs be fixed or not. The steelers will be back. They are the team of the past and the they look to be the team of the future. They have had some great moments in the last 10 years, and really no scandals.

Chief, At this point i will stick buy my Squad. yes, You that statement is true. I am very confident that pittsburgh will win the North next year. As far as the bet goes that sounds very enticing but i am going to have to turn that down right now, but if you ask me again in June you might have a bet.

Chief601

2-3: C'mon, you aren't really going to hang on excuses are you? The Ravens lost to the Titans in the playoff's this year. Plain and simple. There were some bad calls but if they would have scored more points it wouldn't have mattered. At the end of the day a win is a win and a loss is a loss. You can make all the sad ass excuses you want but the fact remains that the Steelers are no longer closers. Thet were once a force and are now a farse. Just sit back and wait. In due time they will rise as others teams fall. That is how the NFL works. The Skins were once great, now they suck. Tampa sucked for years, now they still suck. The Cowboys dominated the 90's as did the Bills.....now they suck. The Ravens used to suck, now they don't. Maybe Bradshaw and Mean Joe and Swan and Stallworth can all come out of retirement and play again? That is the last thing you all have to hang on. Iron City Beer, Balding Bradshaw, the days of old. BTW...who the hell is this Myron Kope joker? Maybe that is the problem child of that team?

just funning.....keep safe.

NoGun4U
02-10-2004, 12:37 PM
The only reason that the ravens lost to the titans is because TENN. is a better team. Both teams played hard but the better squad won. Looking at everythign that happened in that game. Nohting that the refs may have done could of changed the decision. But looking at all the happenings of the past in plaayoff call there is alot of shady shit. Be it planned. Who really knows. The only thing planned is a Hines Ward break out in 2004 INTO 2005.

HEHEHE, we could take some stuff from DC and the Burgh, oh thats right there is nothing there anyone wants!

:D

Loo, I understand how you are excited, I mean FINALLY a chance to have a great coach back ( of course if you don't win as many as snyder wants he can always BUY another!) Good luck, you and Joe will need it. Some of us never learn there is NO price on a winning team;)

Dynasty? In case you've forgotten, It's been TWENTY FIVE years since the Steelers won a Championship. If thats a dynasty, then Pittsburgh girls are pretty. I think coach Coward needs to find a quarterback he can share kisses with again.

And Barbie, I love ya !!!

It's a lot less work when you only have to find one player instead of despirately trying to find an all new coaching staff and all new players. But Pittsburgh and DC wouldn't know anything about having to find an all new team now would they? Nevermind, yeah they do.

Nothing you stated in your last post was accurate. When did pittsburgh have to go out and buy a all new team. They HAvnt went out and had to buy a whole new team or had to find new coaching staffs, because they are a real dnyasty.

Hey Raggy it's me screwby, sooooory I am a Baltimoron fan ooops.. I told the lovely yet apparently clueless Barbie that the only fans that would go to root for the Raavins aren't worthy to be called Redskins fans anyway and we won't miss them we still have 50,000 on the waiting list. Oh and the sports franchise that is worth the most in all major sports is who hhhmmm I believe it is the Washington Redskins worth over go ahead Dr Evil " 1 billion dollars" sooooo shit relax and just come outta the closet.

Now paaaalease don't use the term "Bandwagon" that was a Redskins saying in the eighties and nineties so just say the Raaavins lil red wagon and I would rather watch a couple of Balmore (Raavin fans) Inbreds having sex oh wait I saw that one day it was on the nature channel 2 goats F**king.

Barbie barbie barbie my goodness haven't you all stole enuff from the Ohio city by lake and now you all want to steal more from them well u can give back the old majority owner since he doesn't count.

Just cause the lil rich man in Potomac has money and isn't affraid to spend it don't hate him he is trying, just slightly misguided. The Squire spent alot of money and bought 3 Super Bowl championships to Washington DC (Baltimore oops 1) so u can do it.

Hey City, OOOOO One whole super bowl and hell they have delusions of grandieur..... the simple minded are easy to amuse.

For some reason I couldn't get into TWD for a few days so pardon me for being a little late in responding to your desperate cry to be heard.

1: Loo..is that short for shitter, pisser, restroom or whatever else is depoisted into a British toilet?

2: I am transplanted into the land of steers and queers due to business opertunities that is making me rich like all Texans! Funny thing, don't see as many queers in Texas as you assoicate with on P Street. I am still a season ticket holder to the Ravens and even spent my cash on a 50 yard line seat to the Show in 01'. BTW, how many Super Bowls have you attended? Not many I presume. And, do you support your wonderous Foreskins by purchasing Seasons or are you just a television supporter. Doesn't really matter as long as you continue to be the athletic supporter that you are....LOL.

3: Your comment about the Colts records vs. Browns is not true. Our team was stolen by the City of Indianapolis prior to the move that snowy night in 1984. That deal was consumated prior to the departure of the team. As a former member of the Quaterback Club in Baltimore, I have talked with many of the retired Colts, Donovan, Bracy, Laird, Jones, Matty, Unitas and I can tell you that everyone of them believe that the records THEY set belong to the city of Baltimore and not Indy. Right now, who cares about old records? Not me. We have a new team, a new era, a new stadium and cheerleaders that don't pan handle for nickles on Dupont Circle.

4: Men in dresses? Can you answer why four grown men deem it necessary to represent the City of DC wearing dresses and hog noses? Queers in Texas you ask? Queers in your backyard I tell you! It is typical however of most men in DC. They are either out of the closet or in the closet and trust me, your not in the closet looking for a new shirt!

5: Best of luck to the Foreskins in 05'. You'll need it. DC will never have an identity of it's own outside of being Baltimore's step child, a shit hole to live in, having a CRACKHEAD for a Mayor and then re-electing him again...you only have your sorry ass little football team and a sad one at that.

All in good fun, be safe!

Hey Chief apparently I struck a nerve (lil truth hurts) sooo much anger and name calling let me answer each of your tirades and I will do it slowly for the Texas transplant Impaired :

1. Loo for those of us in East Coast City Fire Departments
denotes a FIREMAN that attains the rank of Lieutenant.
But if u wish I too know of the famous Mr Crapper and his invention, is that what u peddle in Texass as a bizness.

2. I never had to leave my home for bizness opps. found plenty here so no need to high tail it. Let's be honest if u know of
"P Street's" reputation then u must have a working knowledge of what goes on there and probably r a frequent visitor there, my friend please feel free to come out of the closet.

As for my burgandy and gold, I am a season ticket holder and have been going to the games since about 1966 at DC (RFK)Stadium and yes I was in the Twin Cities at our last Super Bowl win. But thank u for caring about whether I watch it on the TV to stay warm and cozy. I tailgate each game and please feel free to contact me and if u can fly ur sorry "moved to Texas" ass up for the "Redskins kick the Shit out of the Raavins" game then I will buy you a beer.

3. U being a bizness man u should know most deals are consumated prior to departure of the unwanted. Maybe if u guys showed more support they would have stayed in Charm City but keep blaming the poor unwanted owners (denile is not just a river in egypt is it). U and the old guys from Baltimore can believe what u want but those records belong to the Colts and wait they r in Indy so please if there are any former browns records u all can have them no wait nope u all have only a team that was stolen from a city and the NFL would'nt let u keep there name... So enjoy the short tenure of the RAAVINS...

4. Look just cause the only colorful characters that the Raavins have are the criminals on the team don't be a hater, hey maybe u can do the black n white pinstripe felons corner of the stadium, u know steal it from the browns dog pound...

5. As for DC being a step child of Baltimore, as I told barbie Charm City has the DC area transplant as a Mayor so hhmmm!!
I don't see anything in DC as an imitation of Balmore. As for Mayor for Life ( the bitch set me up) Barry I personnally loved the man he kept things entertaining around here and I got many a pay raise in the 80's due to him

Baltimore is just a stop on I-95 between DC and Philly and don't u forget it...

Stay in Texas cause from your attitude I think you belong down there selling shitters to the cowgirl fans.....

Feel free to comment and the offer to watch u whine and cry after the game this season is open ended (maybe I shouldn't say that around u)...

Hail to the Redskins, Hail victory.... Oh wait u all don't have enuff history to have a band or fight song(and that band idea was ours and the Indy Colts not the Raavins.....

;) Stay safe and have fun my friend

Afternoon Loo!

Just so you know, I wasn't whining or bitching. I was laughing the entire time I posted to you and read your response.

Firtst, I will take you up on your offer. If you have a ticket, I will prepare a tailgate feast that you will never forget. When the Ravens came to beat your ass in 97' I prepared stuffed lobster tails in your sorry ass parking lot on a very rainy day. We managed to politely...well we actually threw apples..at one of the Foreskin band members seeking refuge under our tent. After our victorious day, we burned three seats that we easily removed from Tampax field, drank with Tony Siragusa and pretty much pissed all over the place.

As for P street: I spent 10 years working at a law firm on the corner of Wisconsin and Military. IT sems like every drug dealer, rapist, murder, cop, mayor, crackhead, whore and pervert, which pretty much sizes up most of the DC population, graced our halls every day. Alot of them had P street addresses. P Street gained fame when Baltimore announced plans for it's national zoo, where we were going to put a fence around DC. It was determined that the gerbile exhibit was going to have to be too large to accomodate most of your friends there.

Glad to see that you are actually on the bandwagon. I am impressed that you are willing to stand behind a team that is destined for the Loo. Everyone needs someone and since you have Snyder and Rosenfeld you will be well taken care of. A ticket holder since 1966 too! I will definately tone done my harassment becasue I would never ever pick on a senior citizen....only busting your chops.

Now to address your concerns over my business activities. I do not sell Loo's. Although it is a good thought. If I do venture into this arena I would like for you to be our poster boy. Currently I own a construction company that does extremely well. I did not run from B'more to do this. Houston acutally has the largest growth of almost anywhere in the country. It's demographics and geographics forecast no slowing for the next 20 years. There is no snow, no rain, no crackhead mayors and most importantly..it is 1500 miles away from that shithole called DC.

I will give you one thing, Sonny & Sam definatley rock on the radio. They definately held their own on the field. Yes, the Foreskins were once a dynasty. Right now however, their band could kick their asses. You had your time in the sun now it is time to stay out of our way! Make sure you keep in touch with me becasue I definately want to continue this bash session when mini camp opens a short 5 months from now.

Thanks for the good times and fun. Stay safe and I'll await your response.

Well now isn't that an amusing statement! Being that I am originally from Baltimore.......then Carroll County (and then to WV for a while then back to MD) and now work in DC which I hate DC Not to say you are sadly mistaken but you really are. Growing up where I did...... DC was not a place you went unless it was on a school trip to the museums! No one wanted to hang out in DC! Lots of people sure didn't mind coming to the harbor though! Hell even places like Montgomery County weren't even known then! Just amuses me to read posts where people think they are from someplace special!!!! Take Camden for example......People who are moving into that neighborhood think it is terrific........what most don't realizes is it used to be a terrible neighborhood! Baltimore has a bit more to offer but I don't think it is a great city either!

I am not or will I ever be Raven's or a Redskin Fan! Both teams suck!!! You want to talk all kind of crap about the Redskins being DC's team.........they are Virginia's team. Hell DC may as well be part of Virginia!

DC has nothing good to offer other than The Capitals and their history (museums)!!! I am just glad I don't pay taxes or live in the District............I would never pay to live in DC!!!!

I agree Barbie. Screw T.O. and his friggin attitude. I hope that ozzie makes it very tough on him. If he remians our property, then let him hold out the next 3 years. See how marketable he will be after sitting idle. If he does got to Philly then Billick ought to put a price on his screwy GIANT head.

NoGun: I predict that the Steelers will loose to themselves twice. That will be due to Cowher getting lock jaw early in the season. Since the Steelers can't seem to update their website with the 04' schedule, and assuming they will play the same teams as us, they should beat Houston, Chicago and Detroit. Of course with all of thier cohesiveness gone, they may loose all of those games. The Browns will surely beat them twice as will the Ravens and the Bengals. Don't worry, a few years from now, they will be back to playing good football. You know deep down that the Ravens are doing nothing but building a stronger team. You know you won't shread our defense anylonger and our offense is gaining ground every day. All I can say is that it will be a great season. I sure do wish the football season lasted longer so we don't have to wait another 6 months!

Hey Chief, I found this article on the dumbass' site, very amusing:D

Attention-starved Terrell Owens needs a T.O. to sort things out

By SKIP BAYLESS

San Jose Mercury News

SAN JOSE, Calif. - This has gone beyond funny or goofy. This is getting scary.

At this rate, Terrell Owens is going to end up like Norma Desmond, the aging movie star in "Sunset Boulevard" who deluded herself into believing she was still the queen of Hollywood. You can almost see Owens, alone in his Atlanta mansion, imagining a camera that isn't there and saying: "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille."

If you ask Owens, he dropped no passes last season and shrank from no over-the-middle collisions.

If you ask Owens, the NFL tried to trick him out of becoming a free agent.

If you ask Owens, he's still as free as a, well, do-do bird.

As a Baltimore Ravens source said Friday: "T.O. needs to wake up."

This time the ball he dropped was a wrecking ball on a face-saving, fortune-saving opportunity he didn't deserve with the Ravens. They traded for him. They were prepared to take him and his agent off the hook for blowing the opt-out deadline by tearing up the contract he's stuck with and offering him the signing bonus he had deluded himself into believing he's worth - nearly $17 million, according to reports.

But instead of thankfully embracing this opportunity with the AFC's most talented team, Owens treated it like just another wobbly pass from Jeff Garcia. Owens said on "The Best . Sports Show Period" that Baltimore wasn't high on his list. Owens said his priority was to sign with Philadelphia. Owens said that he's "entitled as a free agent to have my choice."

This should be proof positive (or negative) that Owens now resides permanently on Planet T.O. in some faraway galaxy. He has crossed the line from football star to idolatry-blinded entertainer. Now he seems to have little more perspective on himself and his circumstances than stars like Michael Jackson do theirs.

Owens' problems started when he remained loyal to the agent he chose when he was a virtually unknown receiver coming out of Tennessee-Chattanooga. David Joseph was - and is - a virtually unknown agent who even now has only four or so other NFL clients, all virtual unknowns.

In Joseph, Owens had basically a 24-hour agent to scream at or order around. Whatever Joseph's commission was, wasn't enough. Yet as Owens approached stardom, he needed a big-name agent to tell him when to shut up and how to position himself for free agency.

He needed a Eugene Parker, the agent who once negotiated a record signing bonus for Deion Sanders from Dallas owner Jerry Jones. On Friday, Parker landed a sweet deal for cornerback Ahmed Plummer to remain a 49er.

In today's parity-packed, win-now market, with teams throwing parties of money at free agents, Parker could have created such a bidding war for Owens that some team might have gone A-Rod for him. But Joseph, with only one big client and meal ticket to look after, missed the earlier opt-out deadline for players who signed contracts before 2001. Joseph complained that the NFL hadn't officially notified him, but even Gene Upshaw, executive director of the Players Association, confirmed that Joseph had been sent the proper paperwork in plenty of time.

Owens believed his agent.

This brought to mind a long-ago aside from a 49ers official: "Terrell is as dumb as a chair." Owens displayed football IQ in meetings, knowing his assignments as well as other receivers'. But on the sideline, in the locker room or at the microphone, his ego often buried what little common sense he has.

Wake the heck up, T.O.: Your agent was as dumb as an entire dinette set.

The NFL declared Owens still property of the 49ers, who conducted a 72-hour trade auction for Owens. Meanwhile, perhaps on orders from Owens, Joseph began negotiating with the Eagles as if his client were a free agent. And according to reports, the Eagles agreed to tear up his old contract and give him a signing bonus in the more reasonable $10 million range.

Educated guess: Owens preferred the Eagles because they have only one big star, quarterback Donovan McNabb. In Philly, he could be The Man more than he could be with the Ravens, who had an NFL-high eight Pro Bowl players last season.

One problem: The Eagles still had to trade for Owens. You cannot blame 49ers General Manager Terry Donahue for preferring not to deliver Owens to an NFC rival. Still, if the Eagles had knocked Donahue's socks off with a package of more than a fifth-rounder and ho-hum receiver James Thrash, he would have been tempted.

But the Eagles weren't desperate enough for Owens to improve that offer. The Eagles were given a last-minute chance to outbid Baltimore's late second-round pick, 51st overall. No dice.

Yet Baltimore was desperate enough to tear up his contract and terribly overpay for the guy who can be "Terrible" Owens. He could have happily donned a purple No.81 jersey and told Ravens fans that he would prove he was a much better player and locker-room citizen than his reputation suggested. Baltimore has a better team - and probably chance - than Philadelphia.

But on the Ravens, Owens might be the fourth- or fifth-best player.

Maybe he's just negotiating, but I don't give him that much credit. Maybe, by threatening to sit out a year, he's trying to force Baltimore to trade him to Philly. Or maybe he's just ready for his close-up, Mr. DeMille.

I invite you to look any where on the internet and find one sports writer who has ever written anything bad about Lewis' attitude. He is a gamer, a leader, a man that plays football with the same passion as you when you yank on your franklin. There is not a more dominent player in the NFL right now. For his time in the league he has surpassed all single season records for his position. Your just a little pissed that your pussy boys can't seem to get around Ray. This young star is a constant Pro Bowler, more MVP titles than any currenty Steeler player. You gives two shits about the Steelers 4 rings? How long have they been a franchise? The Ravens have 1 in the first 5 years of their existence. Did you happen to go to any of the bowls. Bet not. I was there when the Ravens did it in 01'. It is only the beginning. I'll bet one Texas hottie to 30 trailor park Pittsburgh girls that the Ravens will win another Show before the punks in Shittsburgh does. Please, don't watch the Ravens. I know the only time I watch the Steelers is when the Ravens aren't playing and I want to see Cinncy kick their asses again and again and again. BTW are you even from Pittsburgh?

All in good fun. We'll all have a great season win or loose. It's football and that is what is important!

Chief601,

Typical Raven fan, always ready to jump the gun and shoot their mouths off, just like their Pro-Team. Yes I have attended a Super Bowl, Second I never mentioned the press when I said Ray Lewis has a attitude problem, it was merely my take on him. I never took anything away from Ray and his skills, if you could read you would have noticed that in my prior post. I simply said I don't like him, and as a American and a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom that is my earned right, so back off, you wanna talk football and bust balls that is fine, you wanna shot personal shots....Bring it.

Yes the Steelers Franchise has been around alot longer than the Ravens big deal. If the Ravens were the Super Team you and everyone else thinks they are, we would have seen 2 or 3 rings by now.

Know your role.........!

All in good fun. We'll all have a great season win or loose. It's football and that is what is important!

Chief601
03-09-2004, 06:13 PM
I definately want to bust balls when it comes to Steelers v. Ravens. That is why I closed my post with "it's all in good fun". Don't take it personally! You chose your team and I chose mine. If you want to compare franchises take a look at the measley six years we have been around. One Super Bowl, One Division Title, and one playoff season. They may not have won 3-4 rings yet but you can't argue with the success that the Ravens have had. You certianly are entitled to your opinions about Ray and his attitude but where does that come from. He is a sportsman through and through. Is his attitude any worse than that of Heize Ward or Plexiglass Burass? Find one act on the Steelers Roster that follows close to Ray. Find a leader that can shake up a team any more than Ray. Even your very own Steelers have much respect for him and the way he plays his game and conditions in the off season. Ray is the man. Ray is the all together player. Ray is the linebacker of all linebackers and he will crush whomever you put against him......

Chief601,

Believe me I do not take it personal, I enjoy the ball busting, and the Raven vs. Steelers rivalry as much as the players.

Again I do not take anything away from Ray Lewis, I do respect him and what he has done for the Ravens, Linebackers, and the NFL. However I simply can not stand the air he breathes....enough said on that.

I do reconize the success of the Ravens Franchise.......Again I do not like this organization.....And to even the score....I love the Steelers but again I can not stand Hines Ward.

I love football through and through.....I do not think they deserve what they get paid, (any player) but it is supply and demand, I wish I had a Fire Contract 10 million for 5 years with 1.2 Million sign on bonus. And a Free Agency Period.

I would have to say my favorite Steelers Ravens moment happen a number of years ago. Back in the Three Rivers days. It one of the first if not the first Sunday night game. Norm kicked a deep one and the Ravens made a run for the endzone, no one could stop the Ravens but one person. NORM. He fricken leveled the returner like Tony Siragusa leveled the all you can eat buffet. My jaw dropped all the way from my peanut heaven seat to the field. A little kicker made the hardest hit of the night.

I did however miss the queerdell Stewart come back in Bmore though. I was out on lake fishing and listening to the game on the radio. Frustrated at the ass kickin the Ravens were handing the Steel City, I turned the radio off. Come home and find out number 10 put on his running shoes and pulled out a W.

While we're talkin Pburgh. What a screw job given to Bruener. He saves the Steelers ass last year by taking a paycut and they screw him over and release him.

My worst moment, sitting in my god level seats and watching the Pat's go to the Super Bowl. Then meeting up with Ty Laws relatives in the lower levels. I implied fixed game and ran my mouth until they went their way and I went the other.

Enough football, this is Baseball season,

GO ORIOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry it's been awhile: Couldn't get in to TWD......again.

NoGun: Duce or Duece? Either way it is a good pick up. Running doesn't seem to be your problem. You need a QB. Everyone in the league has figured out Tommy Maddox.

As for your prediction....what Barbie said.

My favorite Raven Steeler memory was when we blanked the Steelers at 3 Rivers on opening day of 2000. Then went on to win the show. I also enjoyed seeing Plaxico thrown out of the game at home. My ultimate Steeler favorite is wathcing a once dominate team end up in the shitter. Oh how I long for those days to continue.

Since this is a Joe Gibbs thread I say to hell with baseball. What is baseball anyway? It just isn't the same as a good drunken football Sunday.

As for T.O. Guess we all find out this weekend. Let him go to Philly. The fans are going to hate the shit out of him and his me only attitude.

Great weekend everyone! Be safe.

Here is a big SCREW YOU to Terrell Owens. Today the Ravens have reached an agreement in principal to send the big-mouthed, better than anyone, wide receiver to the Eagles for their second and fifth round picks. Congrats to Philly on their new acquisition. Congrats to the Ravens for being smart enough to get rid of this asshole as soon as they did.

One good thing came out of TO going to Silly-delphia. Where the Ravens had no draft picks this year we now have 2. Atleast I'll be able to look forward to draft day until mini-camp opens. Anyone out there have a receiver they might want to give up?

WANTED: Anyone who can run, catch a football, do a TD dance and, not piss off the entire world while doing so. No experience required, amount of illegitimate children of no concern. (shit, did I actually say that?). Again....F-U Terrell Owens. You, your family, and your friends.

My prayer: Dear God, who is almighty and all-knowing, I have been half of a good boy all year. I have protected my community and brothers and sisters with all of the knowledge and strength that I have. Please grant me this one thing King Of The Earth. Please let Terrell Owens suffer a career ending injury the very first day he steps foot into training camp. Let it remove him from the game of football and let his millions of dollars rest with others more deserving. If it is not too much to ask, please let every other toe unexpectedly fall from each foot. Let him grow a horn in the middle of his BIG FAT HEAD! Please turn him purple forever and let him grow a snaggle tooth. When this monumental task is complete dearest Lord, please sign your name on his forehead with a Sharpee. Thank you Jesus for this one tiny thing.

OK Loo: You know are up 2-0 on me. If this keeps going your streak will end when we play your beloved Skins.

Baltimore Sun, 6-17-04, Sports section, by Mike Preston: "The Ravens are loaded with players with troubled pasts, so much in fact that orange jumpsuits could have replaced the new uniform that were on display yesterday. The official airline of the Ravens should be ConAir." Not bad from a Baltimore sports writer. At least somebody can maintain objectivity through their passion for their team. Bet he won't start and if he does, bet he'll kick the asses of every Steeler that enters the house. Sit back and watch the season unfold. the Steelers are still a few more years away from having to be delt with. This season you won't have just the Ravens to worry about, you guys better be concerned about dropping two to the Bengals. You know that is going to happen!

There is no doubt that the Black & Gold have a lot of work to do. I am not real impressed with the way they have drafted the past several years. Their new QB should prove to be very impressive with a few years of seasoning, provided they beef up the line to allow for a more potent running game, and allow for more pocket protection. Their secondary still needs beefed up as well, but the additions to the coaching staff should help to improve things, but none of them in time to make them a contender this year. I am a realist, as well as a devout fan.

By the way, yes we do have TV in WV, at least my part. We are close enough to the MD line that we steal it from them, or trade it for moonshine.

As for the opinions of EMS counting, I work both sides and was a firefighter before I became a paramedic. I would prefer to run fire calls but I realize that in most vol. organizations the Gut Bucket is the one that makes the money. Besides, without us who would the firefighters call when they get hurt on the scene, the police? Yea right.
Barbie, I take it from your animosity that you don't have a good working relationship between fire and ems in your area. Either that, or you just have a shitty disposition!

Chief601
06-29-2004, 02:49 PM
Barbie: are you sure about the flower? For some reason I thought the WVA State flower was the family tree.....cause after all, it's all relative right? :)

I know that was uncaring and an "incestible" thing to say but, sometimes I just amuse myself. I think I meant insensitive. Oh well, it all means the same in WVA!

While the Ravens take the division the Steelers and their fans can be content to watch re-runs of their family reunions.

paramedic 35
06-29-2004, 02:53 PM
Chief, I don't think Barbie wants to comment on the relative thing. While I have probably heard and said every WV joke out there, I find it refreshing to find that Maryland law allows second cousins to marry. At least in WV they have to be 5th cousins.

Chief601
06-29-2004, 03:00 PM
Barbie, are you going to stand for that crap?

PM35 you might want to re-think your comment on Barbie's disposition. If you have actually read through this entire post, you will see that we all are just screwing around with each other over football teams. We both happen to be Ravens fans that hate the Steelers, Pittsburgh, thier fans, their residents, their women and anything else within 50 miles of that God forsaken armpit of the universe. But remember, it's all in good fun.

paramedic 35
06-29-2004, 03:37 PM
OK, I may have gone a little overboard there. As you can probably tell I am a rabid Steelers fan. I know it is all in fun.
Barbie, I appologize!!!
But the Steelers still have more Super Bowl rings than the Ravens, and the Browns!

Chief601

Yet even with Bradshw, Swann, Harris, Stallworth, and Bleier They could only muster 16 pts against 4 time losers like the Vikings in 1975. And lost to Dallas by 10 in 1996.

Yeah, the Steelers have had their ups and downs. Mostly downs lately, but that will change. Probably not this year, but the future is looking brighter.
As for me, say all that you want, I am a long-time, die-hard Steeler fan. I never miss a chance th watch them. I cheer for them when they are doing good and cuss them when they are doing bad. Come to think of it, I have done a lot of cussing the last few years, but, thats OK, they are still and always will be my team.

There is still hope for my Steelers.

Ever hear of the Madden Curse. With Ray Lewis on the cover it should be an early season for him. And since he's the defense, early season for the D too.

Just ask Jerome Bettis-2000, Eddie George-2001, Daunte Culpepper-2002, Marshall Faulk-03, Michael Vick-last year, the 05 award goes to Ray Lewis.

maybe Plaxico will bum him a ride to the game in his 650.

Even though it is only pre-season, you all just witnessed the fastes defense that ever hit the turf. Beware now, this team is going to rank #1 in rush defense and #1 in sacks. School's out on pass defense but I like what I see so far. As for Boller, typical first few series but a 95 yard scoring drive? Well planned. This kid is going to be the real deal. Chief, I am sure you were dissapointed that the Steelers lost to the Lions lol.
I must admit, "Big Ben" looked pretty impressive for a rookie. I am not saying their prayers are answered but it might not be as bleak a season as I was expecting. If they can convince their blitzers to quit overrunning the QB they might even get a few more sacks this year.

GO STEELERS!

Ain't that the truth, "...or an arrest." What's gonna happen when Jamal is convicted of conspiracy to distribute? Oh, wait, I know, he's gonna do community service time in a drug rehab center, and the Ravens will lose to either the Browns, Jets and Cowboys, or the Jets, Cowboys, and Patriots.

I think that bringing back Coach Gibbs was the smartest think that Dan Snyder has ever done since he bought the team. Hopefully, Coach Gibbs can turn the Redskins back into a contending football team again. This town needs at least 1 major league team that can have a winning season ( God knows that the Orioles, Caps and Wizards cant). Kudos to Coach Gibbs for agreeing to come out of retirement to return the Redskins to glory.

Nope GIVEAWAY game 2 of the season, cause paaaalease don't tell me the cowgirls were the better team..

Anyway there is still October 10th OOOOOOkkkkkk the battle for Route 95, Let's get ready to ruuuuuumble! OH wait we still have to get by Cleveland apparently no game is a gimmeee :p
