since only 10% of the whole EAB side shows up for work do u think there going to be on here..Ooops gotta go just gotta charlie sick person over the vocal to run...Now its a Alpha yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D
If a majority of you FF's would stop treating EMS providers as though they are trash, maybe they would come to work. Afterall, who wants to work in a hostile environment. Our job be it FF or EMS is stressful enough. Think about it and one day you just might understand.

EMS -
Last time I checked, I don't get thank you cards for coming to work. I get a PAYCHECK. Thats why they call it a JOB. So, pretty please, come to work.

See what I mean, you have sarcasm towards EMS people. How would you like to be called truck trash, engine pukes or one of the many other names FF's are called. The occasional kidding around is fine, but not the constant trashing of people who do a job that you are obviously scared to do.
And by the way, I do come to work. FF's on the other hand only have to work 8 day's a month and many of you still find it hard to come to work and do your job. So big deal if someone does EMS because they like it, that is probably why you do FF, you like it. Why down a person for that.

I don't know EMS Only. True, I only worked for DCEMS for one year, but I never had the issues that you mention at 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 12, 14, 19, 21, 24, or 30... As a matter of fact, I felt pretty well recieved by 99.99% of those who I ran into.
Perhaps it had to do with the fact that:
- If I wasn't lifting my own patients, I was at least HELPING left my own patients.
- When I was done at the hospital, I didn't just hang out Out of Service, I went back in service and TRIED to get back to my first alarm area.
- I helped with housework.
- I helped with breakfast/dinner.
- I didn't try to convince anyone that "EMS is the backbone of the modern fire department."
- I attended and paid attention in their drills and asked questions intended to help increase my knowledge base and also to help my position fit in to the drill situation better.
- If there was hose to roll, a rig to wash, a phone to answer, help needed, they knew they could count on me.
I don't claim to be a super employee or anything, I just found alot of 'you can't tell me what to do (to fire side personnel) ... only EMS 1-6, 2-3, 4-5 or 5 can tell me what to do.'

EMSONLY I posted this under the fire side but I am not sure how often to venture over to those boards...

EMSONLY what are your credentials? where did you receive your training? You say most of the FF's do not care about EMS or they dont know how to do the job properly. Have you ever called anyone out for that? Have you ever questioned a lesser medical authority about improper patient care? Have you ever complained to DOH about substandard care given by Firefighters?
Before you start throwing out broad strokes and damning all firefighters as uncaring or incompetant, why dont you share with all of us where and when you got your skills and what kind of CARE you provide.
I just love when someone like you says things without thinking.
