We are opening our application process during the month of November. All the information anyone will need is on our website www.vbgov.com/dept/fire
Here are some answers to your major questions:
1. The process is open from November 1 through 30, 2005
2. All applications must be done online - HR no longer accepts paper applications - the links are on our website or they can go directly to vbgov.com/careers
3. We are planning two academies - May and November, 2006
4. The process follows the one we did in 2004. The Study Manual is the same one - the 8th edition - tell your friends to check their edition and if they bought it in 2004, it is still good for this test - and tell them to study!
5. If they filled out an interest card - they will be emailed by tomorrow letting them know about the new process.
6. If they were still on our eligibility list, they received their letter of notification last week.
7. Susan Salafranca is on board as our new recruiter, her phone is 426-5640. She is out of the office alot recruiting - soooo- make sure they read the website and follow those instructions - it should answer all their questions but if not, have them give her a call.
8. We are having an OPEN HOUSE on Sunday, November 6 from 1 to 4. Live demonstrations, all the specialty companies will be there and people can try out portions of the PT Test. Invite people. No make up date - hope the rain goes away!
9. PT practices will be listed in a day or two on the website - we are still finalizing them.
