As for the GS-7 issue, that will be decided by the Region so whatever the outcome, lets adapt and move on.

wow, i have to admit whole heartedly with jason, if youve got a problem, deal with the captain. and running to the chief doesnt solve anything long term. we have all been around long enough to know that there are decisions made that we like and dont like. sometimes ya win, sometimes you lose. you have to live with the command decisions and move on in life. there are gonna be people in the fire service who will grate on your nerves but you have to deal with them.
the other problem i have is this. there are GS-7 FIREFIGHTERS, EMT's and HAZ MAT TECHS screaming about driving. i dont hear anyone screaming about fulfilling the rest of their PDs. i dont hear anyone asking where our haz mat team is? i dont hear people yelling to ride that ambulance. in the end it will all be fairly done im sure, and if not, live with it or quit. its seem fairly simple.
my other question is, since when have people in the fire department not wanted to ride backward? will it take someone missing a good fire sittin on the plug to start realizing you arent gonna see any fire if youre driving? just a thought
