Concider this Jackass.....your daughters living in a 600+ foot long, 4 story wood frame dormitory, approx. 600+ other occupants, an open attic without any fire walls, and absolutley no fire detection or protection in the attic area. Wouldnt you feel better for your childs safety having 2 firefighters round the clock monitoring that building ?? "Expresso I wannabe a HockeyPlayer"....your right...we'll probably not be able to put the fire out...be we sure will get everybody evacuated out. That's what we're there for.... :D

Seems that firewatch for an occupied building is money well spent in my book... Yes, we spend taxpayers money for that. Yes, the students pay tuition. And yes, the tuition payng students have a reasonable expectation to be protected by their emergency services.

This post kills me.....its funny reading what u salty jakes talk about..Im guessing alot doesnt go on in the fire factory of tolland county :rolleyes: or does it....its ok jackASS if u spend the rest of ur time volunteering at ur firehouse u might go on what 300 calls for ur career... :eek: well let me set it straight for ur uneducated brain about the fire service...see lil fella i play both sides as im a career fireman and volunteer in the county where i live...i dont play the career volly game....in ur situation it sounds like there is a reason for them putting a few round the clock fireman in ur firehouse or somewhere else in ur county...are they going to solve all ur problems no not really but its a start...the station that i volunteer at used to be a good ole boy station like many others and im sure the last things ever on there mind where to envision career fireman invade there house....well welcome to year 2006 where we have both are engine and truck staffed 12/7 and im sure in the future it will be staffed 24/7.....our station runs between 1800-2000 a year and getting busier....people get married have second jobs kids etc,....the days of running from ur house to get the fire engine are long gone there slim.....our volunteers and the career fireman get along just fine.....but listening to the way u right ur posts it seems to me ur very young and havent been around that long in the firehouse.....if u have been then u dont sound like it..u would welcome whoever came to ur firehouse...key word your firehouse......no one is taking ur toys away there just there to supplement u...im guessing thats what there there for...so u can get on here and whine like a lil girl or deal with it...ur county fire dept and govt. didnt just wake up one morning and decide lets hire some fireman and put them in the volunteer firehouses...its happening all over the country in small places as well as big so except the facts that putting ur police detective light on the roof of ur car is a thing of the past even tho it gets the lil girls excited..now go to bed lil girls and be nice to ur new employess...they might be the ones saving ur ass one day.... :)
