It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Fire Fighter Robert T. (Tim) Staepel, President of IAFF Local F61 – Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Brother Staepel died Friday, November 25, 2005 of a heart attack. He participated in a live fire training exercise during his previous workshift.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 1, 2005 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Schetter Funeral Home, 304 Marlton Pike, West (Route 70, West), Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08002, (856) 429-8545. At 10:00 a.m. the procession leaves for Camden, New Jersey. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, 2907 Federal Street, Camden, New Jersey 08105. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Route 70 and Hampton Road, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08002.
