Does Ft. Meade have any openings know or going to in the near future.

Yes, we have some vacant openings for firefighter and should have some very soon for captain and driver. If you have only a few years in the fire dept. and meet the basic training requirements, you should probably be promoted to chief within 5 years.

When will the Firefighter positions be open? And are the Captain and Driver positions only available to inside personel?

Not sure when the openings will be posted, keep checking www.cpol.army.mil and www.opm.gov for announcments. Anyone can apply for any job, so long as you are qualified, unles it is posted in announcment as only being Ft. Meade employees. However, most openings are filled from within.

There are currently 2 openings for firefighter/basic life support at Fort Meade. Go to http://copl.army mil and look under employment. Announcement closes Sept. 30th.

Are you all running an Basic ambulance now? or getting help from the county?

You can have my job and I'll take your spot as retired...LOL...Kimbrough still has the medics for now, so they are running the calls and we call AACO when they are out. No Ambo. here yet....I curse you for even thinking of that...LOL
