I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am a federal firefighter with NDWFD, and I am thinking about applying for you guys. I see there are currently 2 openings, and I am asking for some information about your department.

What are your shifts? Do you work 24/24 like we do, or something a little different. I heard, althought I don't know if it's true, you work 48/72.

What kind of apparatus do you have, ie. Engine, Truck, Ambulance, ect?

Finally, how do you like it there? Is it a good place to work?

Thanks in advance for any and all help. Take care.

24/24, Engine, Truck, Hazmat, Ambulance (2) and Brush truck. Increasing amount of mutual aid with Clarke County, Loudoun County and Fauquier County and some special service (Hazmat) to the City of Winchester and Frederick County,VA....but probably not as much as what your running at NDW.
There was talk of the 48/72, but it didnt fly.

Hey X,

I heard through the grape vine that your favorite piece to ride on was the good "ol" ambulance.......Any truth to that??

Also, I heard Santa had dropped off a present for you @ the station.... :D

Stump,

Yea...I "heard" you got a Christmas present too!! Amazing how Santa finds his way into the station in the middle of the night.

BTW...where in the world did you find it?

Hey now... Nothing wrong with playing UNO, it's even better when things get a little crazy and things (or people) are thrown through the walls.
I want to move out of the area, and looking at all my options. Plus, I kinda want to go somewhere that is working that 48/72 hr shift, not to mention getting upgraded to an 8. I now know you don't work the 48/72, but if I did get hired there, what does it take to get upgraded?
Thanks again.

Truck X,

Why yes I did indeed receive a nice present from Santa. He was so quiet that I didn't even hear him come through the bunk room.....maybe cause I was snoring a little??

One of Santa's elves dropped it off during the day stating he found it along the roadway near 604. ;)

Capt

Santa must have come in thru the Plymovent!! He sure didnt have to be too quiet....there WAS ALOT of snoring going on.

Maybe on his next trip he'll bring some breathe-right strips :D

Hey X,

Breathe-right strips huh?? Do you think they would work?? How about hooking a come-a-long to each nostril in order to pull them apart for better breathing...... :D

How bout the Hurst Spreaders? Just shove a tip in each side and start spreading!
Of course...we'll still need to get an interpreter to tell us what Girth is saying in his own language of "snoring" each night.

The spreaders should work just fine. :D

I bet the cook at the local chinese buffet could tell us what Girth is saying in his sleep!!
