I can't believe how bad this state has become when responding to brush fires. Ten departments for a 5-acre brush fire? What a joke. I hope this is due to lack of manpower. What is going to happen when a serious event happens? About time this state wakes up!

Ok...as in who had 10 departments in on a little 5 acre grass/brush...details man...if your going to stir the pot up then its ingredients are...date, time, who, what, where, and perhaps a sprinkle of why....

I don't remember all the details. I can recall watching the news and reading the paper about a couple of brush fires in the state. Trooper one was dropping water on a brush fire west of the river and east of the river numerous companies on a 5-acre fire. Talking with a dep firefighter, he said the biggest brush fire in Conn. history was maybe a hundred acres years ago. It seems that any type of brush fire is being compared to the west and mid-west, which everybody knows is not even in the same league.

Watching the news just shows the number of idots wearing turn out gear to a brush fire . The only reason to use trooper 1 around here is the union won't let them off the road (May get hurt by dumbness)

That is somthing to be proud of a brush fire. Get a life . Maybe for depts. that run smells and bells or watching drunks it would be breaking news.But for us and anybody with guts it would be just a couple of hour's in the woods
