I had heard this a while back but was unable to confirm.. is this info. posted somewhere on the Internet or printed in an issue?
This is a first-class publication for the fire service -- I did some freelance photography and writing for their papers in NY and Florida (even had the cover of the Jan/Feb 2001 issue) when I lived in those states and I think this will be a great move and a welcome addition around here.
If anyone knows more info., incl. specific contact names or email addresses, that would be great. Please PM or send an email.

Probably true. They are also making an effort to spread elsewhere in the US. They are also pushing on the paging services, too. Recently bought out Tac-9.

Just out of curiosity, and maybe I'm missing something here, but why does a publication based in Newburgh, NY have a contact number for San Diego, California (general area served by area code 619)???

I live in Maryland. I was wondering if getting the subscription is worth it?

I really like 1stResponderNews, lots of incident photos. They do have some typos, but they are working on correcting that. The issue that covers MD also covers WV, DE, etc. - Mid Atlantic region.
** Full disclosure, I'm also a Senior Correspondent for them. **

rivierabeach, just get a subscription to Maryland Fire Dispatch instead. It seems the only time a 1st Responder mid-atlantic issue is posted coincides with a convention, so you can usually get it for free anyway. Now, if you want NY/NJ/PA news, they are tops.

Thanks for sharing such a nice information . It has really got all the ingredients for anyone to be glued in it. Such a nice resource it is, that nobody can miss this for sure. Am really looking forward to more posts...
Keep up the good work.....

I am very unhappy with 1st Responder. I will not renew my subscription. It is very cluttered looking and doesnt cover Maryland as much as I like.
I recently started getting Maryland Fire Dispatch and I am VERY impressed. It is very professional looking. I am also sending in photos to the newspaper.

This is absolutely not true. 1stResponderNews comes out every other month and is direct shipped to every firehouse in the state of Maryland. Plus, their website is updated frequently with color incident photos, new delivery pictures, and a lot more content.

That's pretty cool that they pay you for your pics.
