I used to be a truck driver and see all kinds of people in all kinds of cars. Note: on the average the little neon with the "hottie" sticker on the bumber contains a 350 pound chubby.

good points! also...if someone has a larger vehicle it could be that, that vehicle is the most practial option for them instead of a smalller vehicle.

Or, it could be a simple case of the increasing number of car manufacturers who are under the impression that everyone who buys their product is 5-feet-2 and weighs 100 lbs, and the car is built accordingly. Someone like myself, at 6'4" simply is not going to fit comfortably into most small or mid-size cars nowadays, so therefore a truck or SUV is just about the only way to go. And so many of the newer designs are so butt-ugly anymore that it restricts the options that much more. :rolleyes:

since i got married i had to get rid of my chev p/u and get a ford expedition to drive wife and her kids around, especially for the yearly road trips to florida. i also always seemed to end up being the driver among all my friends too so when we all go out i got the vehicle big enough to drive everyone around. still had to go out and buy an older f-250 p/u to do my lawn business and doing work around the house, getting dirt,mulch etc.

I have a Chevy Silverado Z-71. I have it in California at my base. I've taken it to Lake Tahoe 4 wheelin! PA has nothing on the trails of Tahoe. When I don't go offroading, I ride my Virago 700. My brother back in J-town has a S-10 with a 5 inch lift and 33's. We beat the hell out of it. He graduates high school this month so I told him he could have my Virago. I want to get another CR dirt bike.

The H2 is the worst off road vehicle i have ever seen out wheel'n. During our last outing we had to pull it out twice with my f250. The final time it got stuck we started it by jumping the starter with a pocket knife i then had to pull it backwards thru the mud for 4 miles to get it to where a tow truck could hook it. $5000.00 worth of damage not covered by warrenty due to the fact he took it off road.

The best part was before the trip this yaho thought he was going to pull my f250 all day....

I think people are talking two different diesels. A little dodge cummins and a 460 detroit are two different engines.. Ain't much better then pullen a grade fully loaded with an old detroit watching the raw fuel burn off as it comes out of the stack at night.

Yeah, when I mentioned Cummins, I was referring to the 5.9 Dodge variety, as opposed to the Power Joke (uhh...I mean "Stroke") in the Ford. Recently got to hear a Chevy with a DuraMax in it....not bad, not bad. But, still prefer Cummins Ram's. They made a grave mistake when they changed the front of the Silverado last year. The new Dodges are no big picnic either, but the Silverado looks too much like the Avalanche now, and that's FUGLY, second only to the Pontiac Aztek....and maybe the Spartan Gladiator Evolution, for us fire truck enthusiasts.

As for the BIG-'uns, I can't tell one from another just by the sound yet. With the notable exception of an older Mack. Cummins, Cat, Detroit....it's all good.

True! Very true. I think that Chevy had a good thing going with the 99-02 grilles. Even the GMC's grille changed, although not as bad as the Chevy but they still aren't as nice as the 99-02 models.

chevy chevy chevy... They are for soccer moms and dads. They ride nice they put 4.10's in the rears so they feel like they got all that power but no solid front axle...

I've always owned chevys untill my last purchase (F-250 SD).. The only reason.. It's a real truck... Heavely sprung,Solid front axle and the only vehicle with a bigger xfer case is the H1. My truck may not ride like your chevy but it'll pull my off road truck with a 4-wheeler in the back all day long without even breathing heavy. I can't say that for the chevys I've owned.

However my mud toy started life as an '89 blazer.

Dodges have some many problems in the front end. At least with the diesels they put such a heavy motor and the front end is not strong enough to deal with the torque. They have realized they have a problem but in the older models plan on replacing everything. I rather have a chevy and ford over a dodge. I had all three to know. But all mine were diesels.

My father bought his Cummins-powered Ram brand new in 1994. Now, 9 1/2 years and upwards of 150,000 miles later, he has had no such problems. There was a mechanical issue with some of them that could make the engine FUBAR in a hurry, but he had his taken care of before that could happen. I don't recall the exact nature of it, but it involved a rod of some sort that could go through the motor if something that was holding it broke. He's a pretty decent "shade tree mechanic" and thus far, nothing major has come up that couldn't be dealt with one way or another. I could see how a problem could arise, however.....the Cummins motor weighs half a ton by itself!

As for Ford....well, I recently read the results of a survey that said some 90% of all Ford trucks purchased since 1975 were still on the road today. I guess that means the other 10% actually made it home? :D :D :D

It's just a shame that so many guys have to act like dicks, and ruin it for the rest of us. Once a girl has been around enough of that type, she gets it in her head that all guys are assholes, and it makes it that much harder for the decent ones to get a break, when they already have that much of an obstacle to overcome right out of the chute. Even worse, if the guy doesn't have movie star looks, or if he's got a few extra pounds around the middle, or if he's driving a vehicle that's more than a couple of years old.....then, he's got yet another problem....has to contend with the judgemental types who simply say "Fuck him, he's not worth my time", without even stopping to think about what they could be passing up, if only they'd taken a chance to see what lies beneath the surface.

Of course, there's also a bunch of negative stereotypes that guys can attribute to women. She could be a stuck up bitch...she could be a gold-digger, she could get her jollies off of playing head games, and making a guy miserable for no apparent reason. Maybe she has no clue what the word "faithful" means. Ahh, why do things have to be so complicated?

Ok I have to chime in on this one! I have seen it in so many of my friends and lived it myself and of course regret always comes into the picture. The biggest thing for women who find and date guys who really aren't good enough for them is their own self esteem at the time. Most people even if they have low self esteem still make the effort. Low self esteem doesn't always equal a seriously depressed individual!
