Hello,
When I go to click on other threads to read, the system keeps logging me out for some reason. I've never had that happen before...
Any suggestions??
Glad the site is back up and running btw..
What type of browser are you using?
Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozzila, AOL, etc...
Try deleting your cookies and internet files. This can be done by clicking Tools, Internet Options, Delete Cookie/Delete Files (Internet Explorer).
Let me know if that helps.

I am using both IE & Firefox. The same problem started on this end also. All cookies have been cleared, internet files removed & so forth.
I just created a test account to see if I could reproduce the problem. Everything worked fine on my end.
When you log in are you immediately logged out? Or do you get kicked out when you click on a different link? Is there any type of error message that is displayed?
If you check the "Remember Me" option when logging in, your computer should keep you logged in even when you close your browser. If this is not the case, check you internet options and make sure that anything having to do with Allowing Cookies is enabled.

Everything is working fine now. Earlier this AM, I was viewing different threads, would click to the main page & ended up being logged out. (Who knows,,maybe the heatwave is getting to the server now :) )I just created a test account to see if I could reproduce the problem. Everything worked fine on my end.

I am not logged out right away. For example, if I am in this section and I click on the the watch desk link to go back to the forums, is when I get logged off.
I have cleared my cookies and internet also..
I have also clicked on the remember me feature each time I have logged in
Thanks for the help and the suggestions, it is appreciated...

I haven't been bounced out yet, although the little glitches that used to plague the site when I used IE seem to be gone (at least for now). However, for some reason, I'm still not getting e-mailed when somebody sends a PM, even though the box is checked for that to happen.

Sometimes I am logged off right away, other times I am not. I have taken the same steps listed above. It doesn't matter if I am just reading, or if I am posting, sending PM's etc. If I move in the forum I get logged off. I even had to log in again just to write this post. We'll see what happens when I try to send it.
For me it started on Friday (7/21/06) and is still occurring today (Saturday, 1550 hrs).
Thanks

Having the same problem with getting logged off. For me it seems to be related to time... like it happens after a certain amount of inactivity. Whether that be while typing a reply or having left the site and then returning later.
IE6, Remembered, cookies allowed/files cleared, etc...

I am having same issues and also have cleared and checked box. I'm using IE6 and mine is same as JPS's problem. Logged off after time like answering/posting on a thread, viewing photos and such.

Yep, I'm getting logged out as well. Doesn't happen with any other sites that I'm logged onto. This seems to have begun after the Watchdesk came back online.

Just a random thought for a moment. Is there a possiblitity that the Database is being affected by the heat wave, Thus causing problems for members to be logged off accidently? With the recent heat wave in NW Pa, it has affected most all servers & Internet Providers causing the systems to run sluggish & so forth. (It has even affected our phone lines @ work, both for internal & external calls also.) Just a thought to ponder
EMT/FF99 heard you were looking for me whats up brother??

That's an interesting thought, but no. We're running out of a data center that's about as good as it gets. The only time the AC has ever failed was 5 or so years ago when a tornado came through and took out half of the building! And even then I think only 2 of 30 some zones failed.
