I ned some help Id'ing this helmet. I can't seem to find anything to match it. I am wondering age mostly, was a well intentined present and trying to figure out if I want to keep it. The others I have were issue or worned by me, so this one dosn't have any attachment for me.
Thanks any help would be great.
In sde the head liner I found a piece of paper that said Cairns Polycarbante Helmet, but thats it. Some one said sothing about a "centrey" or may "philadelphian" but I can't find anything picture was to match it to.
Thanks again

If it's pre-NFPA/OSHA it appears to be an 880 Century. The original plastic "New Yorker". Late 1970's early 1980's vintage. When the NFPA and OSHA changed their requirements around 81 or 82 the Century's no longer met the requirements. You can find helmets close to it in the current Cairns line up..but this helmet goes the way of the pre-OSHA/NFPA helmets like the Philadelphian, the Senator and the Clifton...not to mention the "real" New Yorkers before they screwed them up with the impact cap and wratchet liner!!

Looks like a Cairnes 880. This one came out right after the 660 Phoenix style. They are abundant and not worth very much on an ebay auction. With a decent front piece I would think right around $100 in collectavle value. $50-$60 with no shield.

I am not sure of the model of helmet, I am researching that piece of info. However I can tell you that it belonged to a member of the District of Columbia Fire Department (Washington, DC) assigned to Engine Co. 23, located at 2219 G Street, NW the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC. Give me a couple more days I might even get you a full name of the individual that used it.
