A "company union" who will take your money and run to management
to tell their guts. Will not do anything for the firefighters on the floor.
IAFF has even said openly over the years that they are not really
interested in the 'Federal Sector' except as a source of per capita tax
and other revenue suchas PACs. Name ONE instance where the "union"
has actually done something for the department in the last 5 years.
(Ball caps, T-shirts and polo shirts don't count.)

What do you think the union is doing.

1.) They take their members monies, and don't do a F'n thing for them.

2.) They back politicians that won't help any of their members at CBD keep their jobs.

3.) They write piece of S**t ULP's, that aren't worth the paper their written on, that can't/won't do a thing for any of their members.

4.) They take union/local business trips ("Fully Paid Vacations") on their locals dime, that won't/can't help any of their members in the Federal Service.

Four score and seven years ago our union brethen brought forth on this academy, a new union, conceived in inequality, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are not created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether the CNI, or any other acronmy so conceived and so devisive, can long endure. We are met on a great negotiation grounds that is war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that base known as CBD, as a final resting place for those who have given their lives that the union might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

I think the officers of this Local are a bunch of leeches, you know blood suckers, because now their trying to jump on the wagon because of the great job Captain D and the crew from CBD did, on the house fire the other day.

I know what you protecters of the Union are saying, "That's what the Union is suppose to do", well, in my opinion, we got more recognition and acknowledgment from the NEWS and the newspapers than from this local.

If CBD stay's open, and does not close, it won't be from anything this Local and it's officers did, but because of the great job the guy's down there did, and are doing protecting the Citizen's of Calvert Co..

Chief your funny man. The IAFF is about Municipalities not about the federal govt.. Laws and regulations have restricted their influance. The best they offer to us is to negoiate living conditions and the color of our shirts (maybe). Oh yeah NSPS don't believe it was just the IAFF who filed the law suits it was AFL-CIO CLC. The only thing that IAFF is worried about is that they would lose the funds generated by fed F/F's per capita payments. But in retrospect I will say this Fed F/F's who server the navy or marine corps in this day and age are on the short end of the stick. Consolidation is equal to top heavy management and paper thin floor staffing. Poor working conditions and one sided "my way or no way management". If your in the incrowd your good to go if your not shaftsville for you.

If you think the locals management is not doing their jobs then sanction them and force their exit from office.

How long are we gonna beat this dead horse. We all know that the union does nothing for us. I have said it on herebefore and I will say it again, The two "top dogs" of are union are sitting back getting fat off all our dues. Personally I am going to withdraw from the union and put the extra 34 dollars a month in my TSP.

Hey everyone, if your still a union member, I hope you know this, if you vote to disband this local, all the monies that are in "ALL" the bank accounts, has to be evenly distributed among the members.
