Maybe you'll want to check out Hampton/Chaplin ambulance...or even better yet Mansfield where they give you Lime Green fire police hats and a flashlight....."training"....what training is up to date...??? If this guy/girl had any...repeat any "dedication" to the fire service he would of knocked on the station doors before posting in here.....therefore...I vote NO.....got enough stem whackers.....

For your information, I did go to a couple of different stations. The first was Scotland's. I came by in the middle of the day just to see if anyone was around that I could talk to. I was met by member in the parking lot. I asked him about being a member and if he could show me around. Once inside, he said he needed to use the restroom. So I waited for him to return. When he did return, he asked me if I was done looking around and that it was time to go. Then he told me that membership was closed and they would not be taking applications for sometime. Then he told me that the current management was piss-poor and it would be in my best interest to seek affiliation somewhere else. After being snubbed off, I returned to my car and went looking for the next station. But nobody was around to talk to.
I'm just looking to give something back to my community. It does not matter to me where I go, just as long as there is some good people to hang out with. It's their loss. Not mine.
And by the way, LtDad, what do you know about dedication? Looks like the only thing your dedicated to is the watch desk. And I'm not posting my resume for you on here.

What is your problem? Is this how your recruiting tactics work? If you don't want an extra guy around during the day that's your problem. As for me, I'll think I'll just follow the advice of the member I spoke with. I'll go some where else. Hopefully there is department that's not stuck in the stone age. After looking at some of your hose loads on the engine I have to wonder. Did anybody there take FFI or do you just throw the hose back on because your too lazy to pack it the right way? But I probably should not bash you because of your lack of understanding or experience. Let me guess. You have a ton of pride in saving foundations. Anybody else beside this idiot have any suggestions for me?? Sorry to ask on here, but I'm new to the area, don't know anybody, and I am trying to avoid a fool like LtDad.

bose109, usually this isn't posted on TWD, as we use this forum to crush stones. In reality, we're like one big disfuncitional family at 16. If you have a real issue with applying to become a member, I would suggest that you put your complaint in writing and address it to: Board of Directors, Scotland Vol. Fire Department, PO Box 48, Scotland CT 06264.
Keep in mind that we have an unwritten but understood rule between all of us that what's said on TWD shouldn't be taken to heart. And we're pretty suspicious of attacks from other departments/whackers on here, especially after WCFD03 got on here and was a total asshole. Did anybody figure out who that dick was, btw?

The last time I was in bridgeport, they had the most uppity class people in that community. people of all ages out on the street, getting "involved" in their communities. Children starting new business opportunities at every other car that drives by. The women of the night showing the community how they can make a difference in an individuals life. The funny thing is I have not seen these type of uppity class people in Ltdad's area.

So, has anyone yet to meet in person the elusive Bose109? Did he ever show at 16, Station 3 or 4 or anywhere?? I guess if being a "commy b-word" makes me suspicious take a look folks at Bose's public profile..date of birth-April 20, 1978?? Since when could you join a career department at the age of 8?? He led LtDad to believe that he was retired from Boston...

It's too bad that one of the brand new and hardly used trucks doesn't carry water...how many ET's does one department need...is a tanker somewhere in their future...and one wonders why they aren't requested for mutual aid more often
well, Like justtruckin' said, If you let the firefighters do their job and go in a put the fire out when you get there, then you don't need much water.

In fairness spoke to one of the 9's on scene. Small camp type building that was well involved by the time it was called in..wasn't much to begin with so not much to save...more of a worry about 3 building fires within a small radius (1-2 miles) in a short period of time...

The following was posted by Phantom when the board came back up after being down for the summer. READ IT AND THE REST OF THE RULES!
Addition / modification to the rules.
No names* if you want to refer to another member or someone else refer to them as brother or sister, that's what the fire service is really about; isn't it?
*published articles with names are fine.
Since you have just joined us here on the desk I'm SURE you read the rules YOU agreed to follow when you joined.
Since you are new I want to clarify Phantom OWNS and OPERATES the watch desk.

ok u need to chill a little bit, firefighters swear and cuss and bust balls! thats life get over it!No, I don't need to chill. Honey, I have been around firefighters and dated firefighters since I was 12 yrs old. I have worked with them since 91 as an EMT-D, I know what they are like. I also know that there is no reason to come into a thread and use inappropriate language to call people names. The rules were made by Phantom, I'm just a mod who enforces them. If you use the bad language when your telling a joke, or a story, I don't give you any shit about it, it's only when you get carried away and use it to call someone a name. Members have been suspended for it, so reminding someone of the rules is no big deal.

I think it would be just to ban unstable1 from TWD permanetely for the member's inappropriate posting. As much as I'd love for the member to even think to show their face in our "little hick town" and show him some rural justice myself, appropriate actions should be taken by Emtmom and TWD to prevent these types of posts. Thank you for your time and consideration.
