They are starting a new testing procedure and you will have to contact City hall for all the details 301-722-2000.

But there will be a written and a physical agility part to the test.

We run combination Fire and EMS and your assignment is rotated between. 24/48 with a 7 number Kelly system. Our retirement just changed for the better to 54% at 30 years with no cap on that for over years.

You must maintain you EMT for the length of your employment (and in my opinion if you already have ALS certification it is a plus and it is worth 13% pay increase over your base salary)

The City of Cumberland will be conducting a written examination for the Position of Firefighter. If you are interested in this career opportunity, Registration forms are available at the Human Resources Office, Second Floor, City Hall or any Fire Station. A test registration fee of $20.00 and a completed Registration Form must be submitted to the Human Resources Office, Second Floor City Hall by 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. The test date, time and place will be announced at a later date.

Good question Dont quote me on exace but Firefigter EMT starts around $30,000 and any EMT-I gats 12.5% over that and EMT-P 13% (Those numbers go up each year EMT-I Goes to 13% and EMT-P 14% next year)
