Hamilton Crossroads Al. lost their fire station and water tower to an F3 tornado today, no word yet on injuries.

Ive often wondered if money should be spent when rebulding fire houses or building NEW fire houses to make them more disaster resistant. I saw one station in Kansas that was partially earth banked in an effort to make it more tornado and wind resistant. Thats a bit extreme for most parts of the country but maybe some thought should be given when planning a new one.

I am sorry to hear that the firehouse has been destroyed as well as the apparatus. My thoughts are with the members of the department as they try to rebuild their fire deparment. I hope you guys have a speedy recovery and came return to the department it once was.

I see that they are now selling their damaged pumper on Ebay. One question...is the hosebed supposed to lean to the right like that? :eek:

I think the picture was taken a little off center though because if you look at it then you notice that everything else is also leaning
