KILLINGLY -- Six people, including the South Killingly fire chief, have been arrested in drug raids in recent days in Killingly, Plainfield and Canterbury.

The raids culminated an investigation conducted by members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East, assisted by Plainfield police and members of the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force, police said.

Wednesday, police raided a residence at 231 Slater Hill Road in Killingly, arresting two occupants of that house on multiple charges. They were Fire Chief William Auclair, 42, and Arthur Nason, 51, who were both charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said a search of their residence turned up six grams of marijuana, three grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a scale and a shotgun.

Both men were released on non-surety bonds and are scheduled to appear Jan. 24 in Danielson Superior Court. :(
