With all the conversations on the upcoming individuals that are determined to become officers, I would hold true the NFPA standards as well as the state standards. Thus possibly resulting in their dismissal of thinking of running for an officers position.

However I was bitchin cause it was not getting done, and NO-ONE was asking for help, so I brought it up all the time, and see what happens, it got done, all they had to do was ask..... not hard, and let me add this, there is now a stand on the back of it, so someone does not have to go out and dig holes in a frozen ground......

If you were listening you p.o.s you would of hear as you weeleaving the truck oops sorry engine... you would of heard command ask the tower of they're staffing and they said they could handle the roof operations.....and when the engine company came in they were asked to handle interior opps with the LT......... Its not out fault that you don't listen and only do what you want TO DO.......

You want to know where I'm originally from? Well I'll be gald to tell you. I came from a place where multiple fires are a daily occurrence. A place where you would have given your first child to be on the job for one day. A place where all the training in the world doesn't amount to crap. Becuase you just can't substitute good old fashion experience. Can't forget to mention how dead weight gets dropped immediately. I'm sure you've gotten pretty familiar with that feeling. I could go on and on but you get the picture. But in case it's not crystal clear for you yet, I'll briefly explain it for you. You wouldn't amount to the tiniest hair on my bean bag.

Now the name of the department that I worked for is my business. I moved here to get away from the city and give my kids a chance to grow. After hanging out at 16 a couple of times and having a few beers with the chief I've come to realize one thing. Alot of you don't know the first thing about the fire service. You just try and talk like you do.

As far as seeing me on the big one. Well you just proved to me that you have no idea what your supposed to do on the big one. When you finally make it to the scene in your blue light mobile, don't stop and hang out with the cowards on the front lawn. Come inside. I'll give you a lesson in english and how to be a fireman.

This has really made for outrageous, funny, reading. Couple of things;
1. Expresso I am not mad at you, kinda disappointed that it has taken 4+ months to address our ambulance billing issue. Any idea how much we lost in that time ?
2. Despite all that is said on the TWD, things are not all that bad at 16 land. Could improvements from the top down be made, certainly. Show me a firehouse where everybody is happy dappy and I'll say its a gay firehouse. 16 is certainly not gay !!!
3. Bose 109 nice to see you're alive an well.
4. Jackass your idea of holding a town information/open house night is in the works. Really surprised of you (having the intelligence of a "gnat") suggesting that. Nice idea.
5. FF training....you're out to conquer the world, change everything, make huge improvements, kissing ass to get elected and I'll bet $10 to your $.10 that you could not turn on the Hose Tenders pump. By the way, dont feel bad you are not alone. There're alot of wanna be's in the same boat as you.
6. 16 has had a surge of new members. Some already highly trained, some with good previous FD experience. They will become officers by assisting in training, working with the little whackers and positive input. They will not make it by ass kissing, promising lateral support (jackass...means vote for me I'll nominate/vote for you) and back stabbing cause us old guys will crush them. Cant beleive this election shit......going to wal mart and buy a case of crying towels.
7. The days of general popularity vote are coming to an end as I will propose at the next BOD meeting basic, certified, training levels in order to be concidered for a position.
8. Had a really good time skiing at the FDNY/East Coast fire fighters races, Hunter Mtn and hope next year we can get a team up.

Hey prez. It should be easy to figure out who career is. Just review his posts and you can figure out his profile.

He's the guy who is always laying on the couch watching T.V. when everyone else is cleaning the station. He couldn't tell how long the cross-lays are on the engine becuase he never got off his sorry ass to find out. Better yet, he probably drives the engine on occasion but has no idea about pumps & hydraulics. Why? Becuase he never got off his lazy ass to take the class. He's the one that always shows up last on a call and always is the first to leave. "Got to get home to my wife before she get's mad at me." How pitiful! :( He's the one that's always crying about being compliant with OSHA and NFPA. But what he fails to realize is that in OSHA, the fire service is a disorganized sore with little money to profit from. NFPA is nothing more than a guideline. He probably has ether tried multiple times to get on the job somewhere and failed or he worked for a one horse town fire department. And he is always the guy that points and says "you can't do that." Why? Becuase he can't do those things himself. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.

Prez. The next time everyone is there take a look around. Career FF=rehab is right under your nose. Look for the guy that brings nothing to the table, both physically and mentally challenged, always holding tissues against his eyes, and complains repeatedly about his home life.

So here is my final posting: I might actually make some people shed a tear, speaking from the heart....but here goes:

After all that is said and done, after the words are exchanged, after all the bs that is thrown down, all the feelings that are hurt (and yes some hold feelings , even though they say they do not).... Only one things matters, and not only is this one thing that matters, it is the blood shed, it is the sweat shed, it is the knowledge learned no matter if they have 100 patches or nothing, we all learn something from someone, throw the grudges out, throw the attitudes out after the big call, we all come to work together and are a family. I know truly that if anything ever happened to me in a fire and I had a firefighter from this dept behind me, no matter how much they hated me and I hated them, I truly feel that I will be protected and saved by them, because that is how close of a family we are together.

SO you all read this, you all say what you want to say, when you go deep down in your true feelings, you feel the same way.

We all come from all walks of life, some of us reset alarms for a living some of us sell equipment, some us of dig dirt, some of us... well you get the point..... When it comes right down to it, we are there for each other.

Yes I am proud to say I am a out of breed 16 member, but that has nothing to do why I am there, that has nothing to do who I am there to protect and save lives for.... It is the matter that protecting and saving life's is what we are about, and we are closer than anyone can ever be in a working enviroment.

I take my two cents and I give out, I expect nothing to come out of it, just remember it is the individual that takes the two cents someone gives to them the decision to either throw it out or invest in it, and to learn from everyone else.

I may be someone new to your walk of life here at 16, but I will say that no matter how heated I become, now matter how much I do not like someone, I will always be there when that someone needs a hand, and that someone may be you one day.

I used to agree with that statement. I don't know if I still can believe in it after watching some of the training and recent calls. If the current trend stays on course, it could be dangerous.

Well according to some people I am sucking off some people to get a officers position (officers are not made overnight, expierence is what makes a good officer. ever been in a fire ?). Here let me put it this way to those people, I am not sucking anyone off, in fact I am speaking up and speaking my mind, the only thing the others are doing is sitting back and acting like a puppet. I do not need to get on my knees to show people how much I put into the dept. I tell it the way it is, I have told ltdad, and greengiant some of my concerns of the dept, and I have said my words. And in other words I have had the fortitude of telling them NO, and to rethink ideas etc. Oh I am sorry that I am speaking up, I guess that is something others can only do after meetings and behind everyone elses back.
