The City of Louisville is a dynamic, growing community located in northeastern Ohio. The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government, with a population of 8,900. Current Fire Chief is retiring. Louisville is a full service community providing water and wastewater services, police and fire protection, street maintenance, recreation, building code and zoning enforcement, and community planning. The City employs 100 + dedicated workers with operating budget in excess of $9 million. The City of Louisville is a well-balanced master-planned community with a small town appeal.
With emphasis on growth and redevelopment, our high quality of life community seeks an innovative, highly motivated and respected individual with excellent interpersonal skills. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of modern administrative practices and procedures with a high degree of technical competence in firefighting methods, fire prevention, fire training and EMS operations. Must have skills and abilities to successfully and professionally administer managerial and administrative functions, ability to handle crises situations.
The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in fire administration/public administration or related, with 5 years managerial experience, and/or 5 years fire and EMS experience. The candidate of choice must have vast knowledge of modern management, be a skilled leader, team player, effective negotiator, sound judgment and decision maker and possess the ability and willingness to interact in an open, positive, participatory manner incorporating the interests of all, and remain visible and active in the community.
