your right we do have 3 stations with 3 engine companies....but we did lose a station and an Eng Co in the late 90's that was on Stewart Airport.
Let's say we have a very good fire prevention branch...thats why no fires.

We cut a engine co.(e-151) in dec. and we see fires here and more job cuts are coming, but its good to see that you have 3 engine cos and no fires. nice job DOD !!!!!

So let me get this straight...if we have no fires and 3 Eng Co...we should cut staff weither we need it or not...If our base wasnt bordered by a river and mountains..and like we were in the middle of city we would see more stuff too
But if you have 3 Eng Co and happen to see fire...you should get more.

My base 2x the size of USMA.We run 10 firefighters and one duty chief. One Engine co, One Truck Co. & crossman a Rescue co. and yes we see fires.
We are down to 33 Firefighters now and in One station from Three stations and we are NOTon the brac.So yes I think engine co numbers should be based on fire load !!!!!
