Hey Plow wassup?

I think you are SOL, you can't take a refresher out there and also this is April, u are a little late aren't u? Call DOH and see what they can do for u, their number is on the dc.gov site in the agencies section.

If your in the firefighting division. Have your platoon commander submit a special report to DFC Jefferies at the TA asking for an extension. Do not go through DOH directly if you are in the Fire Dept.

That would be DFC Jeffery at the TA ;)

PLOWINIRAQ:
In order to get an extension you may also have to go thru the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Unless you have strictly a DC City EMT card, then you'll probably have to go thru the DOH or DFC Jeffery as was stated earlier. BUT if you have a NREMT card, you can apply for an extension thru them until you can get into a recert class.
Thank you for your service and welcome home!!

PLOWINIRAQ: Hey man...if you are actually IN the army, you could try your Battalion Aid Station. Medics are required to maintain a National Registry EMT-Basic card even while deployed..you could try that(*I'm an Army Medic*. IF you're a firefighter contractor with WSI or KBR in Iraq..both companies have their firefighters obtain EMT-basic certification so you should be able to get info from your supervisor. Hope it helps!

Stay Safe, stay staffed....so everyone comes home!

I beg to question that I came back from Camp Falcon Baghdad Iraq in Jan 07 and was not allowed to attend any NREMT-B recert classes in Feb 06 due to it not being in the contract. Per the senior site leader A/Chief for WSI. So in Mar 06 I lost it and now have to do it all over again if I decide to get back in the volly world. Not a requirement if my current 0081 duties.
