Being watched by firefighters. Maybe they missed that lesson plan in the firehouse mag. Just because you have a patch on your coat doesn't mean you can do it. The worst thing about it is they probably returned to the station and were bragging on how a great job they did

Did not est. a water supply. Does it matter if it is a total loss? Put the fuckin' thing out. I guess as long as it looks good in the websites. Ask any of the chiefs on the scene about the fire. People were not happy. I was standing 50 ft from house, didn't hear ammo. What would hppen if you ran a cardiac call and didn't bring O2?

I am not bashing the way they fought the fire because it was well off. The drivers and officers need to take the blame. I hope I don't hear "well we need to learn from this". We all know better.

Seems like you know quite a bit about teaching fire crap..... Maybe you should stop by 16 in a month or two, after the changes, we might just have a real drill, and not a real class in 70 degree weather.... Looking to the outside.

Scotland rd has NO hydrants, the closest hydrants are West Town St at I-395 and East Town St at Scotland Rd, both over a mile and a half away if not more.

I really like how this changed from "56 land" to "Yantic land".

Face it both fires had water problems and were both well involved prior to the FD arrival. Hydrants and water towers cost money. Most towns give better then 50% of their budget to aducation and then you have the NIMBYS. So its either they don't have or want to spend the money or they don't want a large water tower in the area. Look at all the trouble Yantic had to get the one up on Yantic lane? Something to better the people and they complained. So before we start to judge other peoples fires lets ask ourselves do I have an area in town that this could happen in?

To bad there isnt a picture of what damage was done to the truck. Not sure how I would handle that one? hmmmm yeah thats right suspension if he was a qualified driver.

Here we go with the excuses. We ran out of water. It's never the firefighters fault? At least there were good pictures on the websites!

I know what I am going to say to the next home owner when their house is on fire: "This is the first time that we have had a fire in this part of town and we didn't realize that there is no water around here. Now that we know this, we will cry to the town to see if they will find a solution".

Talking about an embarrasment to the fire service. Has enyone ever met the new chief in North Windham? Man, what a dick! I have spoken to people that are members or were members there and they say that the man power had dwindled to a dangerously low number. Where do these people come from? They get into office and think they own the damn place. Here is a guy that THINKS he is a chief and cannot even spell the word.

I have received a phone call from a very high top town official, he emailed me a picture of what the current fire chief in 16 land wants to have built to repair the structure (see picture below). Thoughts ?
