Fire or Extrication? goggles are good but will fog up, shield is good but will let foreign material collect in your eyes. Damned if you do and damned if you don't! Unless you have hockey pucks coming at you. Then get one of those stupid looking masks!

Back to the thread; I threw my goggles out when I got them. Safety glasses are more comfortable on my face. Don't see too many people wearing goggles. The shields are worthless. A lot of busy companies don't even have them.

I agree, but for what we get for calls, I think they might be best for now.... Wait for a fire, fix everything..... You know I am not all talk... I do things about things to make it a better place... Carns is making a nice shield that replaces the head gear with a shield that stores up inside the helmet. I think it is called the defender. Nise unit
shipmans has them. we have some in service and the guys like them

too modern and expensive for 16. And too complicated for their membership to figure out.

I'll do the same thing to him but my blackgear will have new boots and new goggles. And for wipping the dust off the trucks don't worry about it. The dust falls though the rust holes

Been willing to learn 98 weeks straight. Total amount of productive time actually pumping... 0 weeks, amount of time having classes inside on 80 degree weather.... 7 weeks and counting.

I will tell you this..... I know how to do it, but who knows when you will get water..... Maybe this will fall under training in house ? Naaaaa, suprised I have not just been thrown a book and say you are all set....Isn't that what you guys do, NFPA station ?

Check your membership... You might not have any left, then again if I do not show up for calls anymore, I will get new gear, if I show up on Mondays I will move up in the officers position, if I do no fundraising I will move up also.....And if I write letters about this website, I should be chief in no time.
