The City of Chester recently announced that it will be accepting applications and establishing an eligibility list for the position of Apprentice Firefighter.

Apprentice Firefighter

City of Chester

The City of Chester is establishing an eligibility list for Apprentice Firefighters. Applications are available at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 1 Fourth Street, Chester, PA beginning AUGUST 13, 2007. between 10:OOAM / 1:OOPM and 2:OOPM / 4:OOPM, Monday through Friday. A non-refundable processing fee of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) is required at the time of obtaining the application.

Completed applications include proof of:

1) Age - Must be 18 years of age on or before date of test: September 10, 2007

2) US Citizenship (Birth Certificate/Baptismal Certificate is acceptable)

3) High School Diploma/GED

4) Valid Driver's License



5) Veteran Status (if applicable)

6) The "Waiver and Release for Background Information" page must be
notarized before return of the application

Applications must be returned in person by the applicant, along with the items listed above for verification. Verified documents will be returned to you at the time they are examined so there is no need for copying if you have the original. Return to the Office of the City Clerk between 10:00AM and 4:00PM Monday through Friday no later than FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2007. There will be no exceptions.

Testing site is: City Hall Community Room, 1 Fourth St., Rt. 291 entrance. Check in time is 6:30pm.

- If hired, applicants residing outside of the City of Chester must maintain Chester residency within three (3) months of date of hire.

Whats the date of the test...It has a time but no date?
