Work Schedules

How many federal departments out there work a schedule other then the normal 24 on 24 off. What I ment as a different schedule is something like the 48 on 72 off system. Were I am from if every thing works out we will be going to a 48 on 48 off schedule. We wanted to go to the 48 on 72 off version but since we are a single engine company, we did not have the staffing for it.

We did a lot of research and found only nine federal departments working the 48/72. I am sure that there may be more, but that’s all we could come up with in a half day of phone calls.

I know NAS Meridian, Mississippi just went to the 48/72.

We went to it over a year ago here at NIH and most of the people love it. I don't think I could ever willingly go back the 24/24 again.

Here at Fort Myer, VA we are going thru the trial period of the 48-72 schedule. I like the new schedule I can get so much more done on my days off than with the 24-24 schedule.
