Anyone know of any Fed Fire Depts using GPS in their units (fire or EMS)? If so, what are the pluses and minuses of them. We’re talking about looking into something like Tom Tom for our mutual aid responses, but I'm unfamiliar with the devices.

Try Garmin, the county has bought some and seem to work pretty well. I also have started using them where I volunteer and they work great.

We use Garmin. We run MA in 2 seperate counties and I haven't seen a problem yet with using them to respond to calls.
