Does Sussex County use, or participate in a residential Knox Box program?
Thinking of getting one for my retired parents.

Thanks,

Bethany Beach Fire Department is installing knox boxes for people. They had been advertising this on there web site and newspaper adds. Heard from one of there members that they were getting a lot of requests for them.
Cant imagine why any department would not install a box for you if you request one. To me it's a smart thing to have.

OK, my parents are in Lewes. I'll call the firehouse.
They live off Tanglewood off Rt. 24. I assume that's station 82?
Many thanks.

I actually spoke with Bethany's Chief (Tom Moore) about their knox box drive. He says they're doing really well covering homes and businesses in their first due. He says the program also allows those officers or members that install the knox box to do a fire prevention check of the residence as well as complete preplan information that is then placed in the MDT in the Command Unit, that allows all Incident Commanders access to the information should they respond to an incident at that location.
Great Job to the Officers of Bethany
