How many departments in Windham County provide R.I.T (F.A.S.T) teams for mutual aid structural responses. And what is the required level of training ( FF1,FF2 or anybody who shows up) and amount of training you require for members.

seems like this question is more for QV and ww dispatch for a correct answer. whos on the cards as each depts rit team? it seems that the majority of the dept does some sort of Fast team training, and all would be willing to respond as such. but the problem is there is no standard requirements that these people need to meet. im not saying that they are bad firemen, some of the people i respect the most for their common sense and ablity to react are those with just the basic of training, not miles of credentials. but then again you wouldnt want someone like myself to be there when you really would need it. to answer you question the windhams have a few, canterbury will send you one. all those plainfield depts(mooseup, central village ect.) hampton, eastford, sterling. but you should know that. my question to you is why do you bring it up? got something in mind?

No need in putting yourself down. Everyone on a scene is important :D
my question to you is why do you bring it up?
The reason was that I was not aware of any F.A.S.T teams in the area except for the Plainfield F.A.S.T. Also never hear any dispatched on working fires so was just curious. The requirements for most departments are usually FF1 and extensive training. In my area we have four F.A.S.T within a ten mile radius.
got something in mind?
I know 16&93 did some training with Colchester. They are a very good department to learn F.A.S.T from. Maybe in the future the departments could get together and do some training. It doesn't hurt to investigate it and see how other departments operate in that capacity and ask to train with them. And eventually start a F.A.S.T of your own. I know there are several departments in New London county not far from you guys who have training buildings that they would gladly share to teach others. Just some food for thought.

The following department provide FAST/RIT capabilities. Jewett City,Canterbury,All Plainfield Depts., Danielson,Williamsville, Atwood Hose,Pomfret, All Thompson depts, Windam center, Bozrah, & UCONN.
I may have missed a dept or two, sorry!
I have trained some of these department in RIT and I know ALL departments require all members to be FF-1 with extra specialized training in ff rescue techniques. and some of the team members need to be an EMT or MRT.
