I honestly don't think that would work in the US. I don't mean it would be hard to make it work or disastrous to make it work. I mean its would be like handing you a broom and telling you to sweep all the sand off of Florida. The Health Care Industry in the US is a multi-trillion dollar industry. If we decided to shut it down tomorrow and make it into a government department our economy would collapse so far that there wouldn't be a government left to run it.
