1 dead, others injured in Sussex crash involving ambulance

An early morning accident involving an ambulance from Millsboro and an SUV has resulted in at least one fatality and three people injured, with two being transported by helicopters to Christana Hospital in Wilmington.

Delaware State Police are on the scene of a fatal car crash near Angola in Sussex County, an official said.

The collision happened at about 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Beaver Dam and Indian Mission roads, said Cpl. John Barnett, a police spokesman.

The crash involved an ambulance and another vehicle, Barnett said.

At least two other patients were flow.flown from the scene to Christiana Hospital, Barnett said.

The intersection is closed and motorists should seek an alternate route

My understanding is that the most seriously injured the medic and the driver/emt have been now listed as serious down from critical. The emt has been released and doing good. Driver of the SUV was the fatal.
