For those in W Pa it may be passing as i post, but for Central PA those Mtns we have been u and us now threaten a Flood Alert.. thru Sunday the 10th NOAA has issued the warning for flooding for low areas of the mighty Susquehanna and its tributaries for a crest at HARRISBURG OF 16.2 FEET.
17 FEET IS OFFICAL FLOOD STAGE, but low areas are in jepordy from 13 feet up wards....the villages of Shipoke (south of city) and West Fairview on the west shore are in danger of basement or more flooding as crest rises.The major creeks involved are Paxton Creek running n/s behind Cameron st in the city and the Yellow breeches and Conodogunet in Cumberland Co..other creeks like the Sherman in Perry Co and Powel creek ,Stoney creek ,and Swtara Creek are vulnerable in rest of Dauphin Co....
EM personel standing by for public protection are on alert..
