Hey Fire and EMS management, ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION?! No BLS=no ALS!! Guys, the troops are yelling at you down here in the trenches. STOP LISTENING TO THE POLITICIANS AND THE FUCKED UP LAWYERS, THEY DON'T KNOW SHIT. ALS may be the buzzword today and the DUMBASS politicians may think they know what's best but it makes no sense to have 33 paramedic engine companies!! If only 5% of EMS calls are ALS why in the FUCK are we trying to send ALS to EVERY stinkin' EMS run?!? It's not cost effective or productive. Jesus, pull your heads out and LOOK at this shit!! Paramedics should be the Green Berets, the SAS, the Navy Seals of EMS, not the cookie cutter, let's make everybody a paramedic, oops, OK we'll just call all the EMT-I's Paramedics too, of a quality EMS delivery system. Our Fire Chief keeps talking about making a "World Class Fire and EMS Department." Well it ain't gonna happen goin' down the road we're travelin'. Do you have the courage to stand up to the politicians and lawyers and say, "Wait a minute, let's do something different and try to do it the right way."? Unfortunately, I don't think so...:(

Unfortunately, Loo, I think have come too far to just scrap the piece of shit PEC program. I am just a know-nothing, find yourself a new job if you dont like the way the kool-aid tastes, private. But it seems the ship has almost sunk, there are only life rafts for management, and we are all gonna have to tread water until another administration with a set of cojones(thats spanish for BALLS) will wise up and change things for the better.
