FIREFIGHTER CUTS AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL?
It must be me...but has the "elected to serve the public" world gone nuts? Do we now have LESS of a chance in having natural or man made disasters? Are all the terrorists now retired and collecting their pensions? Is the DC Federal area no longer amongst areas that JUST MAY BE targeted by the bad guys and gals? EVERYDAY we get info on more and more FD's cutting budgets...and personnel. And now at the FEDERAL LEVEL, the head of the DC Regional Federal FF's (IAFF) says that decisions to cut jobs in that area could be a warning signal that the same may happen at Patuxent River Naval Air Station and other federal workplaces close by.
Whether we all agree with the union or not, I would have to say that it is time for the Regional Fire Chief to step down.
